Let's see...

Tons of Organ Tapes, as per usual. He's becoming one of my absolute favorite artists.

Beverly Glenn-Copeland, whom I have no idea how to describe, so I'll just link Ghost House here.

God - Possession -- nasty hybrid of jazz and grindcore by Kevin Martin of The Bug fame (but from much much earlier).

The new Object Blue is going to be amazing -- not out yet, but Chipping At the Kingdom has an upload.

This song reminds me of when my family used to have the HP Media Center PC.

Power Quest: This House
where the word "House" in the title is actually indicative of the track's genre, at least as far as I'm concerned.

i'm gonna start posting in this thread. i wasn't before because i was embarrassed about my musical taste (either it's too weird or conversely not weird enough/too uncool) but fuck it i like music a lot it's my #1 hobby

i've been obsessed with Velocity : Design : Comfort by Sweet Trip lately. i wasn't convinced by the album art or title but i sampled a track (DSCO) anyway and fell in love. it's filled with blippity bloops and it sounds delicious and maybe some people are tired of shoegaze but look they just make really goddamned good shoegaze and the addition of electronic elements actually doesn't sound forced. my favorite i think is Sept or maybe Pro : Lov : Ad or To All the Dancers of the world... or maybe even Fruitcake and Cookies, or International, or... okay if i don't stop i'm just going to end up listing off every track it's a good album i love it 10/10 it's one of my favorite albums ever ugggghhh

otherwise i've been enjoying:
"on (reload mix)" by aphex twin. yeah yeah whatever i like blipity bloops shaddap

i've been enjoying polvo. they make cool guitar sounds and can write good riffs a lot i think. thermal treasure is prolly their best song but i think i like exploded drawing more than today's active lifestyles

i really like MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS which is like just japanese noise rock stuff. for some reason the first time i listened to them i wasn't that enthused but i listened to delusionalism and that song basically blew me up or whatever. it's good

i've also given laughing stock by talk talk and black foliage animation music by the olivia tremor control honest appraisals again; i think they're both better than i remember. for some reason they grew off me since 2012 but i think i was being harsh on them for dumb reasons

oh and finally i love the n64 bomberman games' soundtracks but that's nothing new (i tried to pick a song that wasn't redial or zip or monogenic for bomberman hero. those songs are great but i think everyone's familiar with them by now)

i could keep going on forever there are so many songs i love and i'm constantly trying to absorb new stuff. well except for this past week where i've kinda taken a break

Laughing Stock! I'm not sure I could praise that album highly enough. V : D : C is great too, though I haven't listened much in 5 or 6 years.

As for me, the trip to my new school was a ton of Melvins (especially Bullhead, I love the lurching drums and the mixing of the vocals on Lysol/Stoner Witch bothers me), the JK Flesh EP from earlier this year (Justin Broadrick of Godflesh fame making nasty Downwards-esque industrial techno), and God - Possession. Not much new happening, really. I need to get out of the current rut I'm in; some new stuff would be nice.

I missed Polvo on first pass -- I've spent a ton of time listening to Today's Active Lifestyles. I think Action Vs. Vibe is a personal favorite. A lot of the old live videos of them on YT from the early 90s are great, worth digging through what people like Vacantmoon have put up if you get a chance. There's also this weird version of Thermal Cupid from much later.

This also reminds me that the only live video on YT of Slovenly is very good.

Instead of branching out and being interesting I'm still listening mostly to C418 songs, one new album at a time. This time the song is Beton, from his upcoming album.

I just listened to this song now, and man, I really enjoyed it! Sure wish I had discovered it earlier, the video itself is from ten years ago!

This is also another song I really liked listening.

The N64 Bomberman games have great soundtracks, though I'm more familiar with the OST from Bomberman Hero.

Guess my taste is regressing a bit -- I spent the past few days listening to a lot of Isis - Panopticon. Haven't seriously listened to Isis much since 10th grade. Even Oceanic isn't the masterpiece I took it for back then, but it's nice to lose myself in for a while still. Dredges up memories of New Mexico. Also, lots more ATDI, but I know I've extolled their virtues many times.

Other than that, lots of Cable Regime, a very harsh drone album called Death Tone (same person behind Elemental Disgrace, Hive Mind -- I might have posted about him before), and this W3C track (I don't really like the rest of the EP).

Not much new has been jumping out at me lately, sadly...

Today on really good FM synth soundtracks - Bosconian for the Sharp X68000, featuring a soundtrack by Hideya Nagata and Yuzo Koshiro.

Oh, also, I rediscovered Chiko Hige x Kaoru Sato - Le Chant De La Honte! the other day. Post-punk/??????? full of dizzying spatial tricks.
This new Bloodz Boi track is good too, if you're into that sort of thing.

I still have my immense playlist of 180,000 tracks that I randomly shuffle through, though a nontrivial amount of them are total junk like three second jingles

What's been a bit of a music mood lately has been Mario Kart DS, specifically the Wifi Connection menu and Rainbow Road. Definitely one of the better ones of the series, that.

i haven't posted in this thread because i haven't wanted to admit what i'm listening to

but i'll do it anyway because I FEAR NO EMBARRASSMENT AND I HAVE NO SHAME

so i've been listening to of Montreal again

god damn it

so i've been listening to of Montreal again. i was really into them 10 years ago and they were probably my first musical love that a) i got into entirely of my own volition without someone else suggesting them to me; b) that was a little "deeper into the pool" of underground music, so-to-speak (not that they're like, this super-obscure band, but they're a little less well-known than radiohead or w/e i was listening to at the time). elephant 6 was extremely my shit as a teenager

i'm a little surprised at how much i like a lot of their stuff still? i really enjoyed Cocquelicot Asleep in the Poppies, and i still like The Past is a Grotesque Animal and a couple songs off of Satanic Panic and Hissing Fauna and whatnot. i went through a period after Paralytic Stalks where i actively hated them because kevin barnes kinda morphed into a self-absorbed douchebag (or maybe he always was one and i just didn't follow, idk). honestly i don't really have much interest in listening to their newest stuff -- i forget if i read that their latest lyrics were inspired by an atlantic thinkpiece or just sound like one, but neither one of those things seems very... good...

i've also been enjoying The Fall. i avoided them like the plague because i heard a few songs and it just sounded annoyingly "attitudey" at first but i've grown to like This Nation's Saving Grace. i know Mark E. Smith was kind of an asshole (rip) but i'm just really impressed by how consistent the songwriting is (i like almost every track i've heard so far). i generally just like the ugliness of the aesthetic. maybe post-punk is a thing i could get into a little more deeply? i mean i hated post-punk at first because my introduction to them was Public Image Ltd. and johnny rotten honestly just annoys the fucking hell out of me and their lyrics sounded stupid and obvious and they had even more of the dumbass attitude thing going on, except 5,000,000 times more tryhardy

my music taste is kinda lame and lagging right now because i haven't been as deeply invested so far this month, for, uh, reasons. i haven't been able to obtain new music at the pace that i used to.
i'm hoping that'll change again soon...
