Alright, I go over to change an image because it's not following the image guidelines for whatever reason. Everything seems fine. When I accept the changes, the image isn't updated. Seems like a problem, I might think I need to revert this. But THEN, the image shows up as the one I wanted, and I feel bad about not being patient. So I try to revert it back to what I wanted, and wait for it to show up. I constantly refreshed the page because I thought "It'll show up eventually." No it did not. So then I think, "You know what? No more reversions. I'm doing it again.", and upload the image again. Except, then it LITERALLY SHOWS UP HOW I WANTED TO ON THE IMAGE HISTORY, YET NOW IT'S THE VERSION THAT'S NOT FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES. Why does this happen? Is this a problem with this wiki, or all wikis using MediaWiki?
And by the way, for more info, I am trying to update SMB3HammerSliding.png because it's not been touched for 10 years, and I decided to update it with the correct palette.

MediaWiki's caching system is unusually persistent when it comes to images.

What you want to try doing is, once you've uploaded the file, go to edit the article it's used in. Don't actually edit anything, though; instead, you'll see the token "&action=edit" in the URL. Replace the word "edit", and everything after it, with "purge", then hit Enter. This will flush the cache of that page and should, barring catastrophe, update the article with the new image.

Forgot to mention: I waited again, it's still the same image. But it says it's 6kB, like the image I wanted to replace the original with, however downloading the file shows that it's the image that I don't want anymore (3kB). I can't understand if this is a bug or what, but I can't see the image has been changed on the image's actual page, so the image is still the same.

I see the 6 KB version as current, so it sounds like you might want to delete your browser cache in general. Instructions for that vary between browsers, so run a search for “ delete cache”.

Or hold down shift and press the Reload button on your browser / F5 key. That usually works too.
