On my new laptop, I've been saddled with Windows 10 from the get-go, and for the most part this is not a problem once done steamrolling as many features as possible out via options. I'm not... entirely sure how I would install a Linux distro on this thing, if for nothing more than to mess around with the OS.

i think i already mentioned this in another thread, buuuut

- on my desktop i use Windows 7. i was thinking about using windows 8.1 again or trying windows 10 on my desktop, but my desktop is really old and it only has one PCI-e slot so i needed a PCI wireless card, and getting it to work with anything past 7 is a pain, so i just went with 7.
- on my laptop i use Windows 10. by choice, actually... my laptop was actually made for Windows 7, but i wanted to try Windows 10 again and see how okay i was with it now. it seems okay so far? the spying is lame and i had to disable a lot of it, and there's a lot of inconsistencies in the UI.

i'd talk about my phone but i actually don't have a working phone right now. rip

My laptop dual boots mint and win10.

You have to disable secure boot to use any real drivers though. Which causes Windows to never shut down for real; it just labels itself as in hibernation.

Mint, being based on Ubuntu, lets you do a live boot/install from a USB and also can resize the drive for you proper, without deleting your windows files. (of course, if you're using ridiculous amounts of space on your drive this may be difficult..)

Is "Windows XP Black Edition" something like "Windows 99"? Because I remember seeing that as a kid and yeah, it was pirated 98, haha.

It's a pirated version of Windows XP with various features/software added and removed.

My gaming PC runs Windows 7, which I'm planning on keeping until I replace it.

I dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu MATE 16.04 on my laptop, with Ubuntu MATE as my daily driver.

PowerBook G4: OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and MorphOS dualboot + janky unsupported OS9 boot from USB via OF witchcraft
Dell 7577 Laptop: Win10 / Ubuntu dualboot. Nearly always in Windows since it has a weird optimus setup
PC: Arch Linux / Win10 dual boot. Usually in Arch unless I'm streaming -- I use a KinectV2 as my webcam and driver support for that on Linux is bad last I checked
intel NUC: Arch Linux (server, headless)
LG G6: it runs stock android because the bootloader is locked by t-mobile :'(
ipad pro 9.7: it just runs ios
several raspberry pis: just, y'know, whatever
ipod classic (6th gen): rockbox

Arch with i3 for everyday use. But if I need Windows for anything (like the off-chance that I play games) then I go over to my Windows 10 machine.

Arch is fun enough if you like breaking and fixing shit constantly, or if you don't want to deal with Candy Crush Saga being installed on your computer everyday without your permission.

Oh, and iOS on my phone. Probably going to exchange it for something else soon so I can play flacs and not have to deal with Apple's recent unideas.

Right now I'm using Windows 8.1 and Debain 8 on my laptop, the only computer I have right now. If I had my gaming computer already I'd probably be using Windows 10 on that and just Debian 8 or 9 on my laptop.
I wanted to try Arch but I couldn't get it to install properly so I gave up lol

Let's see here...

My main PC is a scavenged Thinkpad currently dual-booting between OpenBSD 6.3 and Debian 9
My 'gaming' PC is running whatever the current version of Xubuntu is (I did a release upgrade this morning and immediately forgot what the ridiculous animal is for this one)
I have a NAS running FreeNAS 11
My capture rig is running Windows 7 because the capture hardware I bought a while back demands that it be so and I've been too cheap/lazy to change it
I have a Dell XPS M1710 running Windows XP to run old stuff I have laying around (it also has totally rad to the max color-changing LED lights all over it that I looked at once and then immediately disabled)

The rest of the junk I have laying around isn't in working order, so it's not running anything.

then i'm still doing server administration using linux
so i guess i use all of the Big Three a pretty decent amount now. cool

windows 10 isn't too bad once you hack it to bits and disable all the telemetry garbage and the windows update garbage and the garbage garbage. oh and replace the default photo viewer, for some reason every time i open the windows 10 photo viewer it takes like 10 years to open. i've switched to using something called nomacs, which seems okay? so far
