so uh, picked up learning 3d modeling a couple months back since i've been wanting to try my hand at it for a while. mostly because "hey maybe i could recreate the dinosaur plamet model meshes", but also it's just generally a good skill to learn and i'm always a sucker for the lowpoly.

still a bit of a novice, but here's some of the non-tutorial stuff i've done so far


first real model, a simple wolf. used some shots of wolf link's model as a point of reference, but otherwise the mesh was done from scratch


simple tauren totem. dunno if i'll ever texture this, especially since i'm still novice with texturing.


always really liked banjo-kazooie's little talksprites, tried my hand with imitating the style. mesh done from scratch, colors are vertex paint, eyes are a diffuse texture



couple of commissioned models done in the BK talksprite style. lotta fun working on these


partial recreation of tricky's DP model. do plan on modeling him in his entirety soonish (dunno abt textures). used screenshots as reference.

Pretty nice! The wolf is especially impressive.

Low-poly is a good way to get into modeling, because starting with high-poly stuff is frustrating and not a good way to learn.
