Oh boy, I used to read the lost bytes section of that website a lot at some point.

That is, until I knew about wiki.rustedlogic.net tcrf.net, thanks to GoldS linking it into the description of his Kirby's Adventure video. And years later, well...

The chain of events which lead me to this place is kind of fun.

It looks like it's gone now, but for a while this was a really stunning example of quality web design.

So good.

I really wonder if there's a way to get that page back on the internet without all the Wayback branding, because it's completely absurd. There's even a ton of search-engine spam, the kind of shit that stopped working back in 2003.

He actually did design a few websites for places across town, but last I knew all of them had moved on to... more modern designs.

Wow, that's pretty amazing - complete with the gradual image pop-in as the giant list of subrequests filtered in.

I made this little forum because it's something I wanted to do for a long time. It took some influences from Jul and uses some code from it (not a lot, lol), and a theme from another website.

The Realtek site still says it's "Best viewed at 800x600 with IE 6.0 or Netscape 7.02 or Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6 or higher."

The shmups forum looks exactly the same as it did in 2005.

Oh yeah, I remember The Mushroom Kingdom website. It brought a smile on my face to see the website still up, even when I found it for the first time in either 1999 or 2000.

A good portion of my favorites bar qualify as this. These are the same few sites I've been visiting for over 15 years.

Kirby's Rainbow Resort
Serebii.net
The Mushroom Kingdom (previously mentioned)
VGMaps.com

also VGMusic

Oh, and who can forget the Bash.org quote database?
There's a somewhat similar site called Clientcopia (dedicated to stupid client quotes) that hasn't changed much from its original layout, flash and all.

I remember going on The Mushroom Kingdom and Serebii years ago. Also Toastytech, which was linked earlier.

Also "I put on my robe and wizard hat."

Much like with Space Jam, Atlus keeps a lot of their promotional sites up for some reason. Here's the one for Nocturne.

The GUIdebook GUI Gallery was abandoned in 2006 but I still find it to be a good resource when looking for screenshots.

Oh, I have a really good one to share!

Intelligent Systems still has the original website for Panel de Pon up.

It has archived news entries as far back as 1997. Besides the typical game summary and character profiles, it also has remastered versions of the main music tracks and some submitted fan art. There's also a guestbook somewhere.

Bogozone, also known as where Lyle in Cube Sector came from and a bunch of weird other stuff.

This site looks tiny now.
