That is funny. I never knew that "Nintendo Wii" in one language is "PlayStation" in another .

I wonder why they would do that .

Also, I translated "Nintendo Wii" to Japanese and got "レポート:講演資料" which translates to "Report: lecture materials" .

I remember reading about how Google translates using more of a "code-breaking" method than actually interpreting the words. It reads thousands of documents that have been translated to several languages, and notes the changes, so for example it sees that where an English document says "hello", a French one usually says "bonjour". Maybe there are a lot of Spanish Sony fanboys? (Or maybe where English sites would list "Wii, Playstation, Xbox", the Spanish ones list Playstation first, so it gets confused. )

This reminds me of the thing (I think now fixed) in Google Maps, where you can ask for directions from New York to London... and it tells you to swim.

They eliminated it now....

But I remember that too, it even gave you specific directions to a certain wharf in Boston (I think) and which port in France you were supposed to get out of the water at.
