It's a raging debate in this household because two of us like oatmeal raisin and one of us calls it "disgusting fake chocolate chip"

I fail to see the problem-- this just means that you can buy oatmeal raisin cookies and have less competition for eating them

Ananas is fairly common on pizza here. <.<
I'm not into it myself, but then, I like my pizza toppings kind of plain. Kebab pizza is also super common here and really good, so most Swedes have just concluded that Americans have no taste in pizzas.

I don't see why kebab pizza couldn't coexist with the myriad varieties of pizza cranked out by pizzerias in these United States.

I stand by what I say. Raisins are bad.

The really weird thing about pizza in Sweden isn't the toppings, it's pizzasallad.

(also pineapple on pizza is great, try pineapple, red onion, and jalapeño slices)

There’s nothing wrong with pizzasallad per se, it’s really good actually, it’s just, what does it have to do with pizza? How did it turn into an essential component of the pizza-eating experience?

Here’s another one: why does Swedish falafel come with fries? And not, like, pita bread and spiced chickpeas and hummus? What happened to the regular old spicy falafel sandwich anywhere 🥙 ?

So much so, yes.

Pineapple on pizza discussion redux

Hawaiian pizza is apparently one of the most popular kinds in Australia. I don't mind it. I wouldn't put pineapple on any other kind of pizza though.

We like it so much that in a lot of pubs you can also get a schnitzel covered in Neapolitan sauce, ham, pineapple, and cheese.

the reason it was so weird to me when i first heard about people not liking pineapple pizza is,
here 'pineapple pizza' means a dessert pizza. there's no cheese or ham in it, so it's actually. really good?

that said i would love to try a pizza with pineapple, cheese and ham together

I mean, I don’t eat any pizza with ham or cheese on it /shrug

Anyway, it’s not like savory+sweet is some kind of forbidden flavor combination, there are plenty of dishes that are very popular and combine the two. General Tso’s? Kansas City barbecue? Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Pancakes?

If we are discussing weird swedish pizza toppings then I'll just jump in with french fries.

Get me some kebabpizza with french fries on it, yum, it's like two meals at once.

Preach it! This is the really good stuff everyone!

I also remember that one pizza place that had a pizza with spaghetti and meat inside of it (you know, one of those pizzas where they fold the entire thing onto itself so all the toppings is in the middle?), I really liked it myself! ~w~
