Have started Mega Man X6 again. Have gone Yammark > Mijinion > Metal Shark > Wolfang so far. Maybe I'll actually try the post-maverick levels this time.

Also I've somewhat gotten competent at Ballistics, a racing game where you can go at utterly ludicrous speeds. For that main selling point it's rather odd how little warning there is of upcoming obstacles and turns (doesn't help that non-obstacle things all blend together a lot of the time), since you'd have to more or less memorize the courses; Most of the parts look very similar though.

My brother bought Sonic Forces and we have Steam Family Sharing, so I played it.
...it ain't good. It was real bad. I finished it in three hours, the level design is garbage, and the physics are horrendous (the only times I died were to not having enough speed to jump over small pits ). Even the music is meh all around (Jun Senoue was involved in three songs, two of which were remixes of the first one, which is just the biggest disappointment to me). Yeah. I don't recommend it. It wasn't broken like Sonic 06 or anything, just a wholly disappointing experience.

So now I've moved on to Assassin's Creed Origins! Which is basically Ubisoft's The Witcher 3, for better or worse.

Why does it feel like I'm the only one playing it?

Been playing the shit out of Assassin's Creed. The franchise, not the first game. That one is boring. Basically all the entire Assassin's Creed series, minus 1 and Rogue, was dirt-cheap on the Xbox One, so I bought them all to finally work my way through them. 100%'d II for what must be the third time at this point, then ploughed through Brotherhood because that was where I always stopped. So glad I finally finished that one, and Revelations was such a nice ending to The Ezio Collection, if not a little bit sad. Created some closure for the first 4 games in the series.

ACIII was pretty hard to jump in to after binging Ezio Collection. Seems they used this game to switch up the control scheme and how a lot of the game plays. Some of it definitely works, like the refinements made to the free-running system; so far, I haven't flung Connor a mile away from where I intended to go, which happened all the time in the Ezio Collection. Unfortunately, some of it, like guns, is just such an awful step backwards from II. But hey, 5th main game in a series, you probably want to start experimenting. Can't fault them for that.

Oh, and naval warfare is shockingly good. That was pretty much the point where I knew I really liked this game, despite its flaws.

II and Brotherhood are probably the high point of the series for me, gameplay-wise, though III and IV are probably my favourite settings, and i think i like Connor's ideals more than Ezio's, even if he can seem a bit more bland of a character for it. also, yeah, get ready for the control scheme to start changing radically each game

and yeah if you like sailing, it becomes a much bigger part of Black Flag before they ditch it in Unity

also i'd say III is my fav of the series, despite recognizing II as probably the best. is that weird?

From my understanding, yeah, pretty weird General consensus is II/Brotherhood being peak AC, which is something I can agree with, though I'm more inclined to say Revelations is the best.

OneShot.

I have played it and it has become my absolute favorite game.

I really want to play it again, but the experience I had the first time around was magical. I won't experience it the same way again but... it's still so fantastic.

Outside of that, Disgaea 5 Complete now that I have a Switch. It's the perfect portable game for when I'm on break at work or waiting for my turn on DDR.

I played Voltron VR Defender and I was really really bad at it. It’s a cute, short little game though.

Up to 19F in Etrian Odyssey 5, up to just before the Elite Four in Pokemon Pearl (yes, Pearl, continuing my now 5 years old save), and otherwise playing random things here and there.

Did a run of Shadow of the Ninja a couple hours ago and got all the way to 5-1 (out of 5-2).

Beating the game seems doable! I'm going to save that as my weekend challenge. Won't actually be ON the weekend, but I'll have two days off in a row to poke at it.

Was playing some Deceit with a Twitch channel that I follow. It's basically the new Trouble in Terrorist Town pretty much though it's lacking content so far (3 maps with a 6 player limit). It's free to play, though there are loot boxes for their method of a business model (which are all cosmetic).

Beat Doki Doki Literature Club this weekend. Turns out I know the dude who made it!

It was an experience. A friend slightly ruined it because he wanted to see my reactions to it, and wouldn't shut up at certain points. But overall, enjoyable. Annoying catchy soundtrack, too.

Ah, Shadow of the Ninja is such a good game! A close friend of mine used to have the WR for the sequel, Ninja Gaiden: Shadow on GB. It's so fun!

Lately I've been trying to learn the 3-first route for The Legend of Zelda Any% No Up+A but it's sooo hard to be consistent against Gleeok with wood sword and green tunic and four hearts…

Aside from that, I'm looking into learning Zelda 2 100% No OoB and Gargoyle's Quest! I used to run Z2 so I'm pretty good at combat already, I just need to learn the XP route and finish some practice runs to get a baseline time to run against.
