I found these two images in the files of the Multi-Game Interactive Demo Disc 18 TTYD demo.

Something like "Usugura Town" and "Daimu Temple" I think...

Is anyone familiar with these terms? Are they town names in the Japanese version, or town names from another Japanese game?

I can't find any references to them on Google.

Usugura Town (ウスグラタウン) sounds like an earlier name for Twilight Town (ウスグラ村). As you might guess, タウン and are basically synonyms.

Daimu Temple (ダイム寺院) might be an earlier name for Creepy Steeple (オドロン寺院), assuming these two graphics happened to come from the same part of the game.

Need to double-check something in Phantasy Star IV:

This is the original Japanese text.

This is how it was translated in the earliest localization prototype. Is this accurate?

EDIT: Another check if you please. First is the Japanese line, second is the first localization prototype, third is the final script.

Well, we apparently jumped into this here fountain the other day, but I just don't remember a thing.
Sure sounds like a lot of fun, though!
Maybe y'all should forget your worries every once in awhile, it'll do ya good."
- a little looser than the in-game script but I don't have a character limit

"黒い服を着た男がおそってきたんだよう。”
"A man wearing black clothes attacked me."

Both look good to me.

Thank you! I was wondering because I thought it might have implied that they got drunk and jumped in the fountain. There are a few alcohol references that were already written around at this point, like cabinets stocked with cheap wine changed to cheap soda.

This is how the fountain conversation appears in the final game:

Other suspect text...

What's bizarre to me is that the prerelease text about that fountain was essentially accurate a translation.. But the final version isn't..? Worse the final version has crappy formatting, as Xkeeper pointed out. I don't understand why they changed it.

So late in the game, an illusion of Alys (Ryre) appears at the top of the Anger Tower (Which you can only get to if you have the Elsydeon sword equipped). Does this text imply some relation between the Elsydeon and the illusion? The text in the May script is "What? Ryre...You're here at Elsydeon..." which obviously isn't right but it seems close.

The rest of the text before the fight is just Chaz repeating her name and saying "Hey, answer me" and "Yikes" so that doesn't help.

This is audio rather than text, so apologies if doesn't belong here. Gitaroo Man has 5 short audio files that could use transcription and translation. I'll link the relevant part of the TCRF page (unless there's a way to embed audio here): https://tcrf.net/Gitaroo_Man#Puma.27s_Tutorial_Grading

You're close. Chaz's line is more like, "No way... Lyla was... inside Elsydeon." As in, her soul is contained inside the sword, just like the other heroes of the past.

Also, I think it's more proper to just call the sword Elsydeon (no "the") in the script, since AFAIK other named/legendary swords never use "the". We don't say "The Excalibur", "The Narsil", or "The Sting", for instance.

I've had all of Nezumiman's graphics extracted. I'd like translations for all of the text on the following images:

The left is from the special game mode. I wouldn't be surprised if it said "winner" or something. The block on the right was found in a sheet containing all sorts of commonly used stuff, but mostly enemies and hazards.

Ice Nezumi's tile-set on the left and Smoke Nezumi's on the right, but the texts (and most of the tiles) on the latter appear in (or are from) other tile-sets. The sign at the bottom appears to be related to the lab-looking graphics on the bottom. These don't appear anywhere. The other text is obviously not for the artists reference.

Thank you!

I have another troublesome bit of dialogue here:

In the May prototype, this guy's line is: "Here at Gumbious Temple, we not only guarded the 'Eclipse Torch,' the object of the Dezolisian belief, but also we are the core of the governmental system."

Is this accurate? I'm worried there may be some subject confusion going on here.

EDIT: Another line from later in the game: "わしは、二千年の時を生きる ガンビアス大寺院の大僧正…。" Is this saying that the bishop / high priest has lived for 2000 years, or that the Gumbious Temple had stood for 2000 years?

Dunno if this is a stupid request or not, since the thread is explicitly for text, but: I found what seems to be a hidden audio message from the developers in Big Ol' Bass 2, but I can only understand enough Japanese to catch a few words. Could a competent speaker weigh in and/or transcribe, please? Or tell me this is the wrong thread maybe.

Cool, thank you very much!

I figured out that this will randomly play if you leave the game sitting for long enough, so I guess it is more of an easter egg.

It seems missing "聖なる炎"(Holy Fire).

I think this translation: ( I am not English speeker, so This is need check readproof. )
Here at Gumbious Temple, we not only serve holy fire 'Eclipse Torch', the object of the Dezolisian belief, but also we are the core of the governmental system.

This is "High priest has lived for 2000 years".

I'd render this as, "Gumbious Temple, in which you now stand, is adorned by the holy flame of the Eclipse Torch. It is the center of not only the Dezolian faith, but also its government."

頂く in this case likely means something like "is crowned by" or "is adorned by". I've seen it used in contexts like 雪を頂く, meaning "snow-capped", and I'm pretty sure this is how it's being used here.

I'd put this as, "I am the high priest of Gumbious Temple who shall live through the second millennium..."

This line is from Raja, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think he's implying that he's 2000 years old, but rather that he will be the one to oversee the events that occur at the 2000 year mark since Dark Force was first defeated.
