scored a beautiful, clear Game Boy Pocket, which is now taking me through a journey through the first handheld game i had ever played: Pokémon Red/Blue.

Pokémon is always a stressful game to me b/c i try to plan out my team before i even start. this is a very involved process & requires me asking questions such as who is going to fulfill what role. my last playthrough i went w/ the iconic

  • Chansey

  • Tauros

  • Rhydon
  • Starmie

  • Exeggutor

  • Dragonite

team, which made the game a bit of a joke & was full of Pokémon (apart from Dragonite) that i was not particularly excited about.

nevertheless, i decided to change this for this playthrough. how can i develop a nice in-game team that'll cover all my bases? i am considering the following:

  • Victrebel. this would make it the first time i have ever used this one. this one will pack Razor Leaf, making it a solid counter to all the Water, Ground & Rock types i encounter.

  • Persian. this cat Pokémon can be a fun Normal-type addition to my team. i have always overlooked this one, so it will be interesting to run this instead of Clefable/Wigglytuff/Snorlax/Chansey.

  • Jolteon. initially was going to be Raichu, but i have never run Jolteon in my team before. moreover, Jolteon outclasses it in every stats except Attack i think.

  • Marowak. picked for the fun Bonemerang attack.

  • ???, most likely Omastar.

  • ???, not sure yet. possibly Gengar or Hypno or smth.

Started to get into the Battle Royale mode in Fortnite and it's pacing is much faster than PLAYERUNKNOWN'S Battle Royale (Arma 3 BR, H1Z1, and PUBG). Optimization is what you expect from Epic Games, given I was running with a GTX 1060 (though sometimes I get CPU-limited simply because I still have my i5-4440).

This is really begging for one of those old Law For Kids comics with "Even the developer gets in trouble".

A combination of Breath of the Wild, Warframe, Titanfall 2 and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

Ok, it's mostly Lego Star Wars at this point. Amusingly, much like the movies, the original trilogy is much better than the prequels.

Still nothing... except for Pokémon Rote Edition! I have six badges and I'm currently saving Silph Co. from Team Rocket.

To compliment Sofi's post, here's my current team:

I totally expected to see a generic guy when I typed 'Mel' into Google Image search.

Got back a bunch of honey, women, stylized fonts saying "Mel" and finally, Gibson.

I... umm...

and then there's... this?

...I think I'm going to try and beat Pearl soon so I can start transferring mons

just as i beat the Elite Four in Pokémon Blue, the save battery inside died. good timing, i guess!

right now i’m slogging through Final Fantasy Legend 2, but i’m stuck at one point and am not sure how to progress. i think one of the biggest flaws of older RPGs is when you need to talk to one specific person to set some flag that allows you to move forward but it’s unclear where and who that person is.

I can't really understand French but this is a pretty good puzzle game anyway.
Well, knowing French would help (the only existing English version right now is a demo), but it isn't the end of the world.

This game has been recently made freeware, alongside the other Blupi games.

i figured it out, i had to go behind the counter to talk to some shopkeeper that i didn’t even realize had a special name. but how was i supposed to know? i’m pretty sure i get stuck here every time.

I'm trying out Wolfenstein: The New Order and I'm about an hour in--supposedly past the real slow first hour

the narrative's pretty good so far but after playing a ton (~90-100 hours) of 2016's DOOM, the gunplay in Wolfenstein is just not doing it for me. hoping it changes at some point but I feel the part where I have to take cover instead of rushing down everything will be the core of the gameplay which is a bummer

I've tried at least three times to get into it and it's just not doing it for me.

Though, doesn't help that my PC can't seem to run it without nauseating amounts of screen tearing, or with V-Sync slowing everything to a crawl.

I just finished A Hat in Time! It was fantastic, personally leaps and bounds better than Yooka Laylee. If YL is a spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie, Hat in Time is a successor to Super Mario Sunshine.

Third replay of Dragon Age: Origins
Second Replay of Mass Effect Andromeda (when my PS4 wants to cooperate)
Stellaris
Final Fantasy VI on SNES Classic (yay)

Also trying to make my way through the Skyrim remastered edition, but something is up with my graphics card and it really detracts from the game. I worry it is starting to go bad or something.

I've been flicking between loads of old games because I recently found something called LaunchBox which is a launcher for games and emulators which looks really nice. If you have as many roms as I do it takes up a lot of space though (Boxart, Screenshots, Fanart etc) but I think its worth it, I'd ignore the Big Box mode though since they want $50 to unlock that.

I've been playing some VVVVVV lately because I need to go through the beta for TCRF purposes (finally doing something for TCRF again). All I can say is, the room Edge Games consumed 50 MINUTES and almost half of my deaths, just to get one trinket. And in the end I actually had to give up because it was taking me too long! I know there's something such as difficulty, but this is insanity. I didn't have this much trouble last time, but I guess I must've been lucky.

Although in the end I guess working on the page is going to have to wait a little while because I'll need to start focusing on school again until the end of October. My grades are going to faaaaaaall, but at least I'm still going to pass, probably.

Got 100% on Lego Star Wars and all achievements, which was honestly just painful. Takes about 35 hours to complete, but there's not actually 35 hours of content, you're just doing the same levels 4 times. But, now I've completed it, I can never play it again.

Started Destiny 2, and I'm really enjoying it. Got up to level 11 and my power is around 120, but I haven't been able to sink that much time in to it thanks to work. Bought Lego Marvel Avengers and Wolfenstein: The New Order, so I've been playing a little of them. Already beat Wolfenstein on the PC, but it's such a good game, I thought I might as well get the Xbox One version too.

Fire Emblem Warriors is definitely a Musou game. I actually really enjoy how much it does feel like Fire Emblem though. I wasn't expecting more than the weapon triangle making it in, but the pair up/bond system from the 3DS titles got adapted, and pretty well too.

speaking of Fire Emblem, i remembered i have an R4 & loaded it w/ a bunch of translated ROMs, including Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem.

i am about to spend a lot of time in recovery, so i’ll be sitting around playing Fire Emblem probably, which is basically the top way for me to kill time if i need to.
