It's been really sunny here for months, until it rained last week out of nowhere. It looks like it's going to do so again in a few days.

I really prefer actual weather as opposed to sunlight 300 days of the year. The drab grays of winter and overcast days are actually my favorite, and I love driving through rain even if nobody here can drive through it.

Rain is also really calming to listen to, and for a long time I had RainyMood open in the background. It's not as nice without the metal awning my mom's house has, but it's still fun to listen to it hit the windows and roll down the glass.

How's the weather where you are?

It's looking to be mid to high 30s here all week, so we're in the thick of summer right now. Thankfully the smoke from all the wildfires nearby isn't settling in the valley, so the air's nice.

I'm kinda hoping for rain sometime soon, just for a bit of a reprieve?

It took me a few minutes to realize that you meant 30°C and not 30°F and I was about to ask where the hell you lived that that was considered "the thick of summer".

(It's about 86°F if you're curious)

Thunderstorms every single day. Typical summer FL weather.

Same thing, although it actually hasn't been every day here.

Thunderstorms aren't bad, at least. They're like rain, but even more exciting

Well, it is the start of the monsoon season here in the southwest. Expect more periodic storms over the next 2 months or so. I do enjoy rain except for the fact I enjoy my car being clean. I like to show it off and a dirty car doesn't look a good as a freshly detailed one.

I took a Meteorology class at CSN (College of Southern Nevada) this past summer semester and learned a lot of basic, nifty information about weather. Such as pressure systems, weather patterns, etc. Like how wind direction and speed usually go inward and counter-clockwise towards a low pressure center. High pressure systems flow outward and clockwise. Precipitation (rain) occurs when the moisture content of the air (dew point) reaches the same temperature as the air and forms droplets, then fall. When the surface level dew point is close enough to the surface temperature, you get fog.

Nice If I had more time I'd probably go for that sort of thing these days. CSN is surprisingly decent.

I forgot about the monsoon season since I usually know them better as "El Nino" patterns, after the big-ass storm from over a decade ago.

Y'know honestly I'm pretty glad that I'm not the only one that enjoys rainy/cloudy weather overall. Throw some wind in there and you've got some good napping weather.

Its been sunny and occasionally a little gray here in Portland Oregon. Kind of a nice change of pace compared to the battleship grey skies and intense rain we get for a good 9-10 months of the year. Don't get me wrong, I love the rain and gray skies, just not ALL THE TIME.

I'm moving to southern New England in a month though, so the weather will probably be less shitty.

Here it's been frustrating since they've said we were supposed to get T-storms several days this week, and every time it's gone around the "Las Vegas donut hole"

That particular thing is the term I use for the circle that encompasses Las Vegas where every piece of interesting weather seems to go around it instead of passing over us.

Make sure you have lots of hydration with you (water, that sorta stuff). Heat will dry you out fast.

Something similar happens here more often than not, where rain will usually just miss my area and everywhere else gets soaked. :negative:

A cold front hit recently and it's somehow pleasant outside. It's around 85°F and actually feels that way, also it's really breezy. Usually what makes it feel so dreadful in the deep south is all the terrible humidity, but that's temporarily gone.

You can always use some earmuffs for avoiding thunderstorms, or some decently loud white noise to make the sudden jump in volume a little less jarring.

Or move

Denver-ish. It's been stooooormy pretty much non-stop and actually pretty relatively cool lately (I can't recall the last day over 90 off the top of my head).

I'm enjoying it! Rain/thunder super calming and relaxing to me. It was pretty miserably hot and dry for most of June and July. I've found out after living in a state that isn't humid all the time that I'm not acclimated to dry hot weather really at all. Nevada'd prolly kill me.

Pretty much what's going on here, except for the occasional day that gets around 40°.
As for the actual weather it's mostly all sunny, though sometimes it rains, usually taking down the temperature below norm.

It's fortunate enough I live in north Italy, otherwise 40+°C would have been the norm. Yikes.
