Well, it's true! Girls always wrap presents really nicely and guys like me either can't or just don't bother and have competent people do it for them.

I can wrap good enough, but it doesn't look particularly nice. And I always do it with tons of old newspapers (inside the actual wrapping), to make sure the shape is as unrecognizeable as possible. Also, this way, it takes longer to open, to everyone elses annoyance, and my amusement.

Heh, yes, when I wrap things like DVDs where you can easily tell what they are from the size and shape, I throw in a plastic bag or something to make it less obvious. I hate being able to tell what it is without even unwrapping it.

My mom did similar with a Gamecube by putting it in a bigger box with cases of pop (and claimed it was an Xbox ). I still knew it was a Gamecube though, because I knew she'd be getting me one and it was the only box big enough.

I'll have to admit that I'm very good at wrapping presents.

I didn't put much effort in this year, but I often not only wrap the present, but put on nice ribbon and stuff too. I like to be creative with how I put the ribbon on too, they're never the same.

I tend to like wrapping birthday presents more than Christmas presents, because I like to find paper and ribbon that complement each other nicely. At Christmas time it's easier for me to just keep using the giant roll of Christmas paper I have in my spare room.
