Heck yeah, plain Grape-Nuts. I find they get the perfect amount of sweetness from 2% milk.

My "breakfasts" as of late have consisted almost entirely of Hot Pockets, since I always wake up about half an hour before I need to leave for work and never have the motivation to prepare something the night before.

On the other hand, I don't like cereal. Now, that's a weird thing for me to say, because I love the way cereal tastes, it's just the idea of eating it that bothers me. One bowl is never enough, so by the time I'm done eating cereal, it's taken longer than if I just made an omelet! And the omelet would have been warm and tasted better. Cereal just doesn't have a good effort to satisfaction ratio.

Cocoa pebbles lol. I don't think I'm gluten sensitive, but it is gluten free and seems easy on the stomach. Definitely not a healthy choice though... but I eat pretty balanced outside of that.

I usually just have chocolate milk for breakfast, but sometimes when I feel like it I have some bread too.

HOW DID I MISS A DISCUSSION ABOUT BREAKFAST??!

I'm seconding Robbie Rage's post about poached eggs. Plenty of cracked pepper and sea salt on the top. Perfect.

If I'm especially hungry, I won't say no to a bit of bacon (crispy!!) on the side.

EDIT: when I was in a hurry in the mornings I would grate some gruyere cheese the night before, and then in the morning put eggs, chives, and gruyere in ramekins and bake it while I got ready for work.

once upon a time i would have very involved breakfasts. you may recall my posts here about breakfast!

but now, i have slimmed down my breakfast to the basics:
  • greek yoghurt, non-fat

  • various fruit (usually berries + tangerine)

  • granola mix: flax seed + pumpkinseed

this maximizes my time + nutrients. i have become very happy/healthy after adopting this breakfast. i still eat eggs, just for other meals.

I guess lately on days where I actually have time/desire to have breakfast, it's usually a sausage and egg McMuffin from everyone's favorite trashy fast food place. Sometimes two or three if I'm feeling particularly terrible.

Even at the hotel, I didn't have much for breakfast; a small bowl of frosted flakes and about half a glass of apple juice. I didn't actually have any food the next day until well into noon; I really do just skip it most days, I guess.

At the same time, sometimes if I don't have anything in the mornings I feel sick for a few hours after waking up, until I either just get past it or have lunch.

I've been having a lot of porridge lately. I don't like it as much as I like poached eggs, but you can't beat a 90 second cook time in the microwave…

this is still true, but the deal on greek yoghurt has ended & now it’s cheaper for me to get Icelandic yoghurt so i’m getting that instead.
