Julbench3.1 94% full, 55K free, 824K in useNot a game-breaking bug as such, but an "unwinnable state" for sure - Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, probably the C64 version, but I assume it's the same in all of them.
Spoilers for a 30 years old graphic adventure, btw.
Near the beginning of the game, you can use wire cutters to stea- uh, borrow a bobby pin sign from a storefront. If you were in the "check ever location on screen with every item in your inventory" mindset, or had a walkthrough, then congrats, you likely didn't run into this!
So, near the end of the game, you're on Mars and need to open a pyramid to proceed. Guess what the pyramid has? A key hole! Guess what you can use to pick that lock? The bobby pin sign! Guess who, some 20+ years ago, originally started playing the game without a walkthrough, eventually got stuck, then used a walkthrough their dad gave them for the remainder of the game? Me!
Guess who didn't take the bloody bobby pin sign at the beginning of the game.
Also guess who, if they were an anime character or something, would get visible anger veins whenever they think of or hear the word "Haarnadelschild", i.e. the German version's name for the bobby pin sign.
I have yet to seriously try to play the game again.
