The current shows I'm following are: Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans, and Digimon tri. The former is great and just the type of stuff I want, while the second is good..., but isn't quite as good as it could have been, tbh. |

LWA is great. I watched the 2 OVAs back when they dropped on Netflix and I'm very glad it has a TV show now (which is not going to be on US Netflix until it's finished...this has pissed off some folks but I don't mind it)
I've been watching Jojo as it airs on Toonami, and...not much else. I tried watching Gundam SEED and quit because Flay made me very angry. |

Originally posted by Zeether I've been watching their entire line-up, minus ...whatever... they tack-on at the end since it's a re-run of ...whatever... after it's run through the whole thing I must say, One Piece drives me absolute BONKERS with the re-caps. The "Gold Roger's dying words" thing also has been done to death....IMO. I sometimes wonder why I stay-up till... I think it's like 4 for me, (cuz US MST timezone), because it feels like 75% of each episode is "this happened 10 episodes ago, now you're up to speed" ,and I could skip several episodes before I actually NEED to see one to progress the story very far. Everything else in the line-up leaves me genuinely excited for the next episode, and the wait for the next week sometimes is UN-bearable... but, I manage. Maybe it's just me (or something's wrong with me), but I see no issue with Naruto... I think I also prefer the wait/break between watching the episodes of all these anime, though, because the plots are so complex, and the episode counts are enormous. The truth is, binge-watching actually wears me down real fast. My sister got me some of the InuYasha seasons and I haven't even opened them yet. I haven't even watched the whole series, either, just bits and pieces, spread across beginning, middle, end. I think I've seen all the movies since I was 10 or so (I was forbidden from playing LOZ since first grade, but they showed me InuYasha, ok.... ?) , but I can't remember many details about them. It's been too long. I've had many anime recommended to me, but most I've never started watching, and the rest I quit for one reason or another, or only actually watched the one time they were presented to me. |

The new Cardcaptor Sakura anime looks pretty good. I just watched the prologue episode. It felt like a continuation of the original. (Minus the part where the second movie came up with a different ending than the manga.) |

I haven't read much of the manga. Can you provide a quick summary?
I know there was some difference, I think, in that there was some relationship (?) between Clow and Sakura's father, but I don't remember anything about it. |

I haven't read the manga either, I'm relaying this from my expert source.
She says this prologue episode is basically the original ending of the manga, without the bit with the teacher dating his twelve year old student. Spoiler:
Eriol goes back to England, Shaoran confesses his love to Sakura, Sakura spends a while figuring out what her feelings are, Shaoran packs up to go back to Hong Kong, Sakura sews a new plush bear for Shaoran and gives it to him at the last minute before he leaves, roll credits.
Oh and then Shaoran shows up and Sakura tackle-hugs him. I can ask for more details about what changed between the manga and the anime later, if you're interested. |

I started watching My Hero Academia, finally. (Spoiler: It's good)
Apparently it's been a good couple of years for series with the word "academia" in them. On that note, I still need to watch the second LWA OVA also. I've got a few other series going right now too, but MHA is the one I'm actively watching the most. |

I might as well put this list here, stuff I've been recommended:
- The new CCS (see above ![]() - Dragon Maid ... I actually have 12 of the 13 episodes downloaded but haven't watched - Re:Creators - Someone recommended this to me too - Only Sense Online (?) - this might be the manga or something, no clue Of course, with how bad I am at actually watching/reading any of these, I might not ever actually see them, but ![]() |

I've been slowly rewatching Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. I'm not going to try to describe the concept too thoroughly, but it's set in a peaceful, overgrown post-apocalyptic Japan many years in the future, and centers on an android named Alpha minding the titular quiet country cafe in place of her absent master. It's slow, contemplative stuff and has kind of a sense of mono no aware hanging over it.
I've also started Yuri on Ice, and while it's pretty cute, I'm not in the mood for that sort of thing most of the time. These days I mostly read manga though -- the sorts of things I enjoy (Lain, Haibane, Kaiba, Utena and so on) don't seem to get anime anymore. |

Re: above, I liked Penguindrum a lot, but I need to rewatch it. First time I was watching it was during a very busy/unstable part of my life and there's loads I don't remember. I've not seen the newer Ikuhara stuff, though...
In other news, I saw the new Kino series' PV today, and while I'm still cautiously optimistic, nothing about it looks quite right coming from the first series. I hope it's actually good though -- the current translation of the light novels is horrid, and the anime omits a lot of what they cover. Also looks like Kaiba got a blu-ray release, which I desperately want despite the price... |

I watched through all of Gatchaman Crowds (And Crowds Insight) recently, really good shows if you ask me. :3
It's like a super hero/magic girl show except it's more about exploring political ideas and the human psyche the the usual stuff you see in that sort of show. Personally I recommend both, even if the first few episodes are a bit weird, hehe. |

Oh yeah, this is probably a tired topic if you use twitter, but I finished Houseki No Kuni a week or two back. Very nice show. I have no clue how to explain the concept beyond the fact that every character is based on a gemstone without making it sound horrible, but there are plenty of synopses around.
While there's no gratuitous suffering of the kind you see in Madoka or whatever (which I think is a good thing), there's a nice exploration of the damage desire to grow and change as a person can cause, even when it's necessary (this is likely addressed further in the manga, but the only english translation is so awful I'm waiting for another one). The use of CG is also interesting -- I think people have been trained to think of heavy CG as lazy, but it looks beautiful in this show. Not half-finished or sterile at all. |

Please watch Space Battleship Yamato 2199. It's streaming legally now, you have zero reason not to see it unless you want to miss out on a remake of one of the best space opera series that was so pioneering it basically helped invent the term "anime" in the 1970s.
The remake actually added more to the cast and the CGI is pretty slick, plus the music is wonderfully retro sounding to go along with it being a 70s anime remake. They even play disco music at one point when the Yamato launches its fighter fleet (utilizing a very ingenious rotary platform catapult launch mechanism) |

I am watching Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and just finished episode 4.
I'm not entirely sure what I expected, but I don't think it was this. |

I thought it would be a fanservicey 4koma comedy show targeted towards loser 20~35 year old boys but it turned out to be a fanservicey 4koma comedy show targeted towards loser 20~35 year old lesbians, which automatically makes it way more interesting to me, hehe |
