It's just a lump of stuff with weights and you hold the middle and you spin it around and it keeps spinning for a while. I have one too at my desk at work, it's pretty stupid, but I'd be lying if I said I never touch it.

I've seen kids using them at elementary schools (even though they're trying to ban them). I mostly use it to reduce my anxiety.

I actually have one arriving at some point I grabbed for £3, sometimes when I'm thinking of what to do I tend to fiddle around with whats around the laptop including scissors so I figured it'd be good to have. The fad is annoying because it makes people that use them for legit reasons look bad.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks this.

I mean these things were created for specific people for a specific reason, and while cool, regular people can use it too, it'll annoy everyone to hell in about two weeks, more antispinner memes crop up, and the original intended users more or less get shafted out of something that could've been their thing and accepted as that.

Yeah, this assessment sounds correct.

I kinda hope the trend of considering fidgeting non-productive dies, though. Has anyone seen Good Mythical Morning's take on fidget toys? It seems right on spot to me. I probably am among those people who can benefit from fidgeting, or overall doing something considered to be "distracting". Also, I'll fidget with nearly anything...

I went grocery shopping and somehow I left with a fidget spinner. It's pretty nice.

I was fidgeting with a cuticle spoon. I think I've done some damage to my nails.

I ended up buying one from a gas station for $5; it's cheap and crap, but it's fun to spin on the table when I'm here. Doesn't fit in the hand well, though.

Bought a fidget cube, too, which will arrive soon. Maybe it will replace the handful of plastic utensils I keep on my desk
