Hey,

I’ve been digging around for unused content in the arcade game CarnEvil for quite some time, but I’ve got as far as I really can by messing around with the game in MAME, so I thought to come looking for some help.

I know the game has been decompressed and explored a little from the things that Abystus found using his edited KI Image Viewer here, and I’ve managed to figure out which files he found by using the File System Check, but I’m sure there’s other stuff that he might have not known were unused.

Anyway, for example, I’ve seen some files related to the enemy Flem the Fly, referring to a fly swat or club or something:

(V1.0.3 File System Check, the order is different for V1.0.1)
328. flieswat.wms
346. flieclub.wms

This enemy does not hold a fly swat item in the game, or any other weapon. However he does appear holding a flyswatter in some post-release artwork, so I assume he was planned to use this as a weapon at some point.

I think .wms are images for textures and what not, so it would be nice to get a look at these files and confirm the fly swat’s the same one and whatnot.

I haven’t been able to contact Abystus himself to ask him more about what he used to get the images, and I don’t know if anyone else has ever broken into the game, but I thought it’s worth a shot asking

Thank you anyone who read all of that.
