Hm? "Bokurano" (bokura no/ぼくらの ) basically means "Our"/"Ours."
(Let me know if you can see the hiragana above, properly, rather than an extended ASCII mess; I thought I'd test and see if the setup I'm on sends Japanese to Jul correctly.)
Bah. Why bother with 1:100 models. I'm trying to get a copy of the 1:1-scale Gundam for my front yard.
(If anyone reading this isn't sure what I'm talking about, a couple links I found with a quick search (since I don't remember offhand which of the Japanese pages I have bookmarked have pictures of it):
GUNDAM GUY: 1/1 Scale Gundam Statue Will Be On Display @ Odaiba (Japan) in Spring 2012

I still had to test and make sure everyone other than me could see it correctly. That, and I'm on a different system than the last time I tested; this one seems to handle everything better.

Oh god, I think I know where he's getting that title from. (fake edit: I'm wrong -- the bokurano manga apparently had a terrible scanlation that was almost entirely guesswork, but that's not it. Uninstall just happens to be the OP for Bokurano)
I think the 1:1-scale Gundam would take up your yard, plus a few other people's besides. D: I'll stick to my personal ideal, which is a 1:60 GP01 from 0083. Goddamn, why does it have to be $375...

Just gonna go and tell everybody in this thread to watch GaoGaiGar.
A classic beyond all other classics.

Just looked it up on MyAnimeList, looks interesting, Its quite funny that it is set in 2005. I'll watch it. Anyway what would you call Classics? I've watched things over 30 years old before, GaoGaiGar was only made in 1998 and to me that is not that old.

Thank you for pointing me in that direction, holy shit this show is so hot-blooded the temperature in my room went up 15 degrees whenever Gai was onscreen
Also, SamuelEarl666: "Classic" does not denote old, it denotes an outstanding work in the genre. Some people would regard Evangelion as a classic, and it's only two years older than GaoGaiGar, and not half as awesome.

Don't forget to watch GaoGaiGar Final afterwards too!
It'll be at least ten times as hot-blooded!

I have no problem with that.
(Hrm. Almost a week away, and this is all I have to contribute. Hmm... wonder if ARIEL counts. Probably should dig up what I have of the original Mazinger, too...)

After this Watch Gurren Lagann. I already made the thread: Here
But GaoGaiGar is also amazingly great and in my opinion a hell of a lot better than even Robotech or dare I say Gundam. Plus the opening was pretty badass on its own

After I got done watching Gurren Lagann I watched this and was amazed. Then again, Gurren Lagann was a massive love letter to anime like this. So yeah, GaoGaiGar is pretty much #1 in mech anime.
Watch this shit yo

Bumpin' this to ask: Should I give Ideon a look? I hear conflicting reports of "It's amazing and a genre-definer" and "It's shit."

My faves: 0079, Zeta, Victory, Char's Counterattack(mostly as a nice finale)
So-so: F-91, ZZ(the second half almost redeems all the ridiculous moments), G(fun but not incredibly awesome)
Hate: Wing, anything Seed related
Don't mean to troll here but I don't get all the 0083 love? It's really one of my least favorite gundam titles.
-Kou is annoying, immature, never really matures.
-Characters are very poorly developed
-The plot is really confusing.
Here, I think this guy sums it up nicely.
Also Armored Trooper Votoms is an incredibly awesome anime.

So I randomly decided to download The Big O and well...

This series feels pretty great so far, only 3 episodes in.
It's like if Japan did Batman, except with mechas.

| Yea Big O is awesome. I absolutely love that the second season was created by popular demand and produced as a collaboration between Japanese and American animation studios. That blew my mind at the time and shows you how fundamental Cartoon Network was in the American anime scene. |

The original Macross and the movie remake (Do You Remember Love) are both really good, but you have to keep in mind that they are rather old.
