Silly wall. It seems interesting but it has to be quartz. Thank you for helping me though! I noticed the lanterns and part of the rest of the tunnel was worked on!

For context: a few days ago, I was renovating the skeleton grinder (in order to add an item sorter) when Lila came by and started using the auto-levelling command block nearby... and ended up giving me a dozen extra levels in the process. I've already been a bit annoyed by the command block shenanigans but it hadn't really affected me directly until then, so I thought I'd prank Lila and set a trap at the experience command block.

...By which I mean, a TNT trap triggered by the lever, with iron door and obsidian to trap you inside.

In retrospect it was pretty mean-spirited, but honestly I didn't mean for it to either kill Lila (though with the death chest it wouldn't have mattered) or damage nearby blocks (as Creeper explosions are blocked, so I thought TNT wouldn't break stuff either), but it seems like I was wrong about the second part, and really, deadly traps like that aren't very nice. Won't happen again.

Anyways, my whole point in doing that was more-or-less to start up something fun that's part of a Minecraft server I follow, namely Prank Wars, and I feel like I accomplished the idea better with my second 'prank'. Lila's been working on a very large, very long passage from the spawn underground to her own basement and using quartz for all the walls, but as mentioned before:

The amount of Quartz needed made Xkeeper build a Quartz generator button
And so to poke fun at that, I thought, why not 'help out' with the tunnel walls?

...By which I mean, use every single white block except plain quartz blocks. White wool, white stained clay, snow, diorite, polished diorite, quartz columns, quartz pillars... I even included two iron blocks in there! I didn't have the resources to cover a long stretch of the tunnel so as a prank it probably didn't have much impact, but oh well. (Also, she mentioned wanting red sand at some point so I remade a miniature red desert over the Mecha-Shinobi, leaving more red sand in a chest.)

Lila plans on getting her revenge at some point, which is perfectly fine with me, and I'm hoping that clever pranks are something that everyone on the server would be interested in for the occasional joke!

Oh, speaking of Lila's basement, from what I understand it's pretty unfinished right now. Side rooms are planned and named but aren't decorated yet, all the lighting's still on the floor, etc., but the sheer size of it is already impressive. Still, if you want a screenshot:

If someone could figure out a good server-side teleporter mod that isn't 27 levels of terrible that'd be really nice to have. Mentioning it for the next page.

Jungle things are now... a thing! *cough*

But seriously, in my best/worst kurtjmac and Far Lands or Bust impression, I went south in a rather straight line, trying to find one of the previously undiscovered biomes. And while I ruined Delpolo's square-shaped map, as can easily be seen on the overviewer map, it resulted in the discovery of a jungle biome at around Z 5400, complete with jungle trees and saplings, as well as cocoa beans!

Brought the spoils back to spawn, Delpolo logged on to make some basic farms, so there's probably a steady supply of beans and saplings now

I finished redecorating Spawner 1, although I might do a few more things later. It definetily took longer than it should've, but either way, Real-Life™ kept me too busy for the past weeks. The changes in the room were done by me, but the spawner itself and the sorting system were remade by Delpolo.

Here's a few screenshots:

More things! Spawner 1's reconstruction is officially done, so it's time to move on to other projects! I saw that the cow and pig farms near spawn were causing a lot of problems, also this:

So I decided to replace those original farms at spawn with something new: a tree farm with all types of trees except Dark Oak which might be a little difficult to place there. Here it is:

I also took the opportunity to build a path to that hotel on the water. The original cow farm still is in the middle of the tree farm, I know, but I don't want to kill those yet. It's not complete anyway, there's still a few things to be changed here and there, but it's something. Other than that, everyone on the server is building something too. It's nice to see some activity back.

I have plans for the Mecha Shinobi when the 1.9 Update rears its big ol' head.

I will KEEP the quartz in the middle of it, and in Lila's lab, but I will try to replace the Quartz outside of the Mecha Shinobi area with PurPur blocks. That way, it will be more like a ninja than it is.

Wait, is the server going to be updated to 1.9 when it comes out?

Er, either way, there's this area that Lila was working on the server, it's a laboratory that has all sorts of technological/futuristic rooms. It's still under construction, but it already has some things. Here's a few images:

And yes, that is all for now, but it's a very interesting build, with Quartz and Wool everywhere. I wonder what is going to be built in the next rooms.

Also, the tree farm has a spot for Dark Oak/Big Jungle trees now, which means that there's a spot for every single tree type in there, which also means the tree farm is done. That was quick.

Sure: Depends on how quickly Spigot updates. Could be a few weeks, could be several months.

The server will be going offline temporarily around here. Nothing should be lost, it will just go offline for a bit.

Host stuff.

I have no idea what that is. If there are some bullshit features in 1.9 we can try to disable them, but I'd give them a chance at first.

You can no longer spam-click to attack, for example. Or rather, I think you still can, but you barely do any damage unless your attack meter thingy is fully charged? Also, weapons/tools all have an attack speed now and damage has been rebalanced, so that ex. the axe is really slow but does the most damage per hit, but swords still have the highest DPS.

Entity collision is back, too, so prepare to be pushed around by your cows again, or off a cliff by another player... but I think at least that can be disabled.

I'm hoping we don't revert all the new 1.9 mechanics if only to allow people to try it out for a few weeks, it'd suck to not have the chance to see how stuff's harder just because we'd rather avoid change.

Anyways, I've been slowly working on a few farms in the desert to the north-east. Most of that was terraforming though; I spent a very long time just drying up rivers. That's because one of my farms is...

...a squid farm. Mobs only spawn anywhere between 24 and 128 blocks away from you in a sphere, but squids specifically only spawn in water blocks/streams that are at a Y-coordinate between 45 and 63, so in order to acceelerate squid spawns I had to choose a location far from the ocean and without any lakes (ie, a desert) and then dry up any rivers and underground lakes near the surface. ...though I still haven't done the latter because, y'know, I can't see underground so iunno where they are.

The only necessary component of the farm are those water columns but I'm having a bit of fun with it, I built a pixel-art squid shell because the water columns look like its tentacles (and I even replicated the mouth, even though you can't really see it). I still need to dig the pit deeper so that all squid are guaranteed to die from fall damage, and then I need to make an item collection system with a hopper-minecart, and then decorate the whole thing with an octopus (as per MM200's suggestion)...

But yeah, the other farm I'm working on is an iron farm. It turns out I miscounted and still need a lot more stained clay for the other three sides, but I think this speaks for itself:

(Didn't have enough clay for the mouth, ugh.)
The entire statue's pretty much a pointless shell, the farm itself's gonna be built (and concealed as a hat) on top of it, but it sure looks imposing, doesn't it?

Apart from those two farms I still wanna do more stuff around 'em in the desert, though I'm having trouble deciding. Can't use water to decorate or it'd wreck the squid farm, sadly. I was thinking of making something else villager-related (like a shopping mall with all the most efficient villager trades?) but I haven't quite gotten any inspiration for builds yet, plus I still need to make an actual house for myself, so I'll see.

Its-All Terrible (no there are no screenshots on-hand)

Don't know what kind of farm I'm expected to be going for visually, but as someone with no experience in the matter the entire going has been slow, haphazard, unplanned, and altogether a mess. Additionally the person in charge of this can often be seen forgetting the very things they themselves want to do and wandered off because a creeper 'entered' their range of vision (as seen and not heard this morning).

...honestly I should probably just raze the whole hillside to bring it in line without bumps that cause needless complications to potential layouts. Except then the ecostructure is ruined and the original landscape is lost forever tee emm. But I guess when you really think about it
- A pen exists for the cows, albeit smaller than advertised
- Pens exist for the rabbits, four colors exist in >=2 numbers and one of the other two are around as a single entity
- Pens exist for the sheep, though the size is even smaller. Such a thing may be mitigated by the division of all 16 colors provided, but mileage may vary.
- A pen exists for the pigs. The laziest and largest area covered. ...Pigs.
- A pen may be made at any time for Mooshrooms as space is readily available in the east
- Chickens may not need to have a pen if the egg cycling of a machine is remade and re-ported over. (Prefer a system that banks some eggs for their use in cakes. 16*9 may be a tiny mumber)
- Need clarification on how to handle Horse and Horse-like creatures. Not an area I'm familiar with.
- Need clarification on if cat/dog pens even have a point
- carrots for days

Plenty of things to go, perhaps a great many, but I believe until I know how I want to handle the landmass management exactly I'll probably be at a small standstill of sorts. In the meantime, how much of a liar am I for calling it terrible? (Sometimes the worst person to opinionate a work is the worker themselves)

Nothing is lost, we still have a backup. It'll probably go back online once interest in the game picks up again (and people feel like maintaining a server again).
