I figure it's nice to just have everything in one place, and I'll know what I did with something.

I guess imgur's a pretty good host too though if you don't accidentally throw something out there for the whole world to view

If I had my own website I would primarily host the CSS there so I won't have to deal with inline garbage anymore. Possibly the images as well but yeah.

Fun fact: There is a Kak.com website, but it's weird and quite suspicious. I have yet to see if it contains malware or not.

I might or might not have acquired a six-letter domain name where the first half is the acronym of a certain big gaming league, and the second half is that of a japanese word for cute and also a character in the simpsons. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it.

Well apparently "this image has been deleted" type placeholders aren't cool anymore. New design trends state that you must replace all meaningful error messages with ads.

it's why I've avoided imageshack over the years--they're real scummy with their ads. imgur just has a "yo this image is dead" placeholder instead!

Oh god no. The "best" ones are those that disallow you to read a post, as the content is completely replaced by "Please login to view this blah blah".

Sometimes you can bypass all of this using the Wayback Machine proxy, but it rarely works.

... I don't even get what you achieve with mandatory registration, other than showing off how desperate you are for artifically getting more users (and pissing off everybody).

Unless registration requires payment, but in most cases that's not the case.

I always had a general dislike against Imageshack

how it's website worked was always unintuitive to me where all I really wanted a simple drag and upload type of thing (at the time I normally used Imageshack which was a few years ago, I didn't know something like that existed), uploading images would just be a pain

And then what did they start doing for links to images that were deleted? I swear I remember clicking on a few imageshack links to broken / deleted pictures, and it would redirect me to some really poor autoplaying concept video, not only showing off their new site at the end, but also showed a bunch of people takin pictures of stuff and a little kid

coulda just sent me to a 404 page, no, you had to send me to a autoplaying video...about the new version of your website.

Yes, and that's why I use a link generator in the rare cases I have to actually download stuff from it.

Traditionally I don't trust link generators because there's a good chance of getting malware, but the 4server.info website seems okay and the downloads works.

...but for the longest time I didn't know about this, that pissed me off to no end.

Also, I don't get as well the "registration thing" since while there is a Pro account option, there is a free one as well.
