Got Crypt of the Necrodancer during Summer Steam Sales and I've been loving it. It's a roguelike where you can only do actions (move/attack, use items/spells, etc.) to the beat of the music or you're penalized, with plenty of fun characters to go through the twelve levels (divided into four zones).

Just beat the last zone with the main character Cadence, so now I wanna do the All-Zones Run before switching over to her mother, who can only attack by moving to a space adjacent to an enemy. I also need to do the never-pick-up-money run to unlock the move-every-half-beat character...

The soundtrack's really good too; the collector's edition comes with it and I've been listening to it even when I'm not playing, haha.

Going through the Shin-Chan Game Boy games.

After starting with the fourth one (which, well, is a bit easy), I tried that infamous hack which probably most people have played first. Good lord. "and they made it hard" . The feather item is your friend, because the more you skip the horrible level design the better... and there is only one easy to get in the first level. You will lose it anyway because of how the enemies are placed. Have fun.

As I got bored of losing lives and not progressing, I went with the first GB game. Surprisingly, it can be hellishy hard, especially from the second level. The time limit and the temporary power-ups that do not give an extra hit do not help. The level design is somewhat reminiscent of that hack, but at least it gives plenty of extra lives meaning that you can't run out of them unless you really screw up badly.

Castlevania Chronicles PS1 (JP, PSN):
Revisited. It's no-doubt THE all-time first for me.

Rosenkreuzstilette (Both RKS and RKSF):
Revisited. I love the control scheme but disagree with the design of some levels and AI of some bosses

Rockman 4 (JP, PSN):
Just beat it recently and I knew nothing about it currently

I just recently played through The Stanley Parable. It's short enough to complete in one or two sittings (for the most part), but it's a pretty interesting narrative, and it's fun to play too.

I definitely recommend it, and the less you know about it before playing it, the better.

Like I mentioned before, I should have been playing Mega Man 3 Improvement, to follow the steps of the two previous Mega Man games I've actually played today.

Too bad I didn't finish neither of them (Stuck at Wily 3 in the first one and Wily 4 in the second one). Oh well.

I'm almost done the second chapter of The Wolf Among Us. A friend recommended it as one of Telltale's best games, and I've been enjoying the concept and atmosphere so far. It's certainly a lot darker than I was expecting. I dunno how I feel about other Telltale stuff now. I was avoiding The Walking Dead because zombies, but I feel like I want to give it a try.

Walking Dead's great--its characters are well-written and are much more on the forefront than some zombie bullshit

I just finished playing the PS4 version of Journey (and my first time ever playing the game, too), and god damn that was something special. It's a real emotional roller coaster.

I recently, after 1 year of on and off playing all the Ratchet and Clank games beat Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus.

The series was actually surprisingly high-quality overall, with some few exceptions (First game and All-4-One), I had a lot of fun playing them, and I am pretty excite for the PS4 remake.

Now I've gotten started on God of War collection 2 (both PSP games "remastered" for the PS3) and after that I am probably gonna play ascension as well.

Also gonna give Dark Souls a chance on the PC.

And Yes, I like playing games 2-3 years after they're released.

Dark Souls is so good dude! If you have a PS3, consider Demon's Souls (my absolute favorite), and Bloodborne if you have a PS4. (And Rocket League so we can bukkake tag team everyone)

Consider getting the THANKS OBAMA mod for Dark Souls, by the way!

Dorito: I actually did try out Demon's Souls a long time ago, and absolutely positively hated it, and for a long time I wasn't gonna give the series a second chance but eh, I went for it.

I am enjoying Dark Souls a little more, but it still feels like there are quite a few unfair bits, but at least it has more reward than Demon Souls, and I am having an easier time understanding the stats this time as well.

I'm currently playing through a 15% Hard run of Metroid Zero Mission.

my 15% is:
Morph Ball
Bombs
Varia Suit
Screw Attack
Ice Beam
Power Grip
Plasma Beam
Gravity Suit
Space Jump
1 Missile Tank
5 Super Missile Tanks

got to tourian without any deaths, the metroids tend to kick my ass. Mother Brain won't be much of an issue thanks to screw attack, though

That's understandable, it's fairly niche and shit. Might be a case of first true love for me...

Just remember to keep your cool! Patience! Especially on Ornstein & Smough... Just think Dustforce!

Dorito: But in Dustforce I couldn't level, or summon other players to help, or grind for a good weapon.

In Dustforce it was just me and a level and that is the difficulty I like.

Not "You may not pass and can summon other players if it is too hard because this game is 'so hard'".

Thank god for Dustforce.

I'm playing several games intermittently:

Skyward Sword - about 75%
Hyrule Warriors - Just done with the Adventure Map, DLC is next
Majora's Mask 3D - I just beat Stone Tower, but I haven't actually finished any of the other 3 dungeons (I did get the weapons though)
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire - restarting for more shiny Rayquaza

I've been really lazy with AS ... I bought it last year and I still haven't beaten it. Got to the fifth gym, backed up all my Pokemon to the bank and now I'm restarting for more Rayquaza

Advance Wars 2 is out on the Wii U virtual console.

It's an excuse I don't really need to play through it again.

100%*ed Banjo-Kazooie last week. Rusty Bucket Bay aside, it wasn't nearly as hard as I remembered.

But fuck that fucking engine room right in its fucking exhaust pipe. Seriously fuck that shit.

(* except mumbo tokens, game doesn't display a count so I couldn't be bothered to care)

Also just finished the main story of Sleeping Dogs.
