Take a 0x6060 portion from 0x20 in the decompressed code and then you have WUP-FAEJ.bin from the NES Remix Pack.

Apparently the WiiU VC titles have config files for games that aren't released yet, including some Rareware games like Banjo. Dunno if this is within the scope of TCRF, or the exact nature of these config files.

I am under the impression that it would be, though where you would put them is anyone's guess. Wii U system article? Special "Virtual Console" page?


(The latter might be good for games with VC changes. The changes in particular could be created as a subpage and added as a template to the game and VC pages...)

I have a feeling that I read somewhere that the battle network stuff is extra content (i.e. before-downloads-were-a-thing DLC) related. Might be e-reader stuff like SMA4?

Battle Networks are a mixture: http://forums.therockmanexezone.com/topic/8947437/1/

Most of it is probably flashing fixes but I think that some stuff might be added which is why I'm so curious. Evidently the Wii U VC can do patching on-the-fly too so I've been going back over and dumping a bunch of RAM to try and compare.

Racked up a few more today. So far only Golden Sun, Minish Cap (Europe), and SMA2 match their originals.

But you forgot to identify the "base ROM" for each USA, JP, EU release, as they not only can use the original US version for the VC EU release (as I see is already being documented), but also a specific revision out of many or a completely new build. This information would be also really useful to have, for example, when looking for the ROMs to apply the patches.

Thanks! I'll throw those on when I get the chance. The intent was to have users check the CRC32 of their rom to compare to the before patch because that's a surefire way but I can throw the rom base on before the extra section to avoid having to do that.

(sorry it took so long for me to get back to you)
(I'm still trying to figure out how to have spreadsheets autofill a cell based on the contents of another cell by default and not as a per-cell formula)

EDIT: I got the EU Version of Drill Dozer at last! All of our EUR friends seeking to play Drill Dozer can now do it in their native language. I added it to the spreadsheet, and I've moved all my patches to a folder linked in the spreadsheet now.

NWPlayer123 managed to get the title key for the the Wii U virtual Wii title Kirby's Return to Dream Land, so you can now decrypt the title files you can download from Nintendo's servers. You can also find a copies of the decrypted files online. The "content" files include five "nfs" files that add up to 998 MB (1046478848 bytes), I assume these make up the actual game.

Lots of cool stuff happening on the wii u front recently. The game shouldn't take up all of those files, unless they have it padded and compressed which seems redundant. a .wbfs image of Return to Dream Land is only something like ~300 MB if I recall.

Hmm. I wonder how big all the non-virtual game's files are in total. I'll hopefully get hold of a disc image to check

EDIT: all the files of the non-virtual USA version (excluding the system update files) adds up to 1.11 GBs (1202394563 bytes).

You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
