Secondly, I've been trying to join the IRC channel for the first time but I'm apparently banned. I've never even been on the IRC channel before so this seems rather odd to me. What gives?

Alright I see that Mibbit users are auto-banned. Interesting. This could have been made a little more clear on the site

Considering how garbage mibbit it, it's probably for the best that you get a better client anyway!

Amen to that. I already use HexChat but sometimes end up using Mibbit just because it ends up being a little more convenient when I'm in a hurry haha.
