It's well known requiring GBC is the most obvious difference. Somehow I don't think that's everything. Language barrier is too steep for me to look much...

What about the time machine, since RBY were never translated there? GB printer support I'd wonder about too. I'm not sure if they had that accessory.

So, without known Korean events...
Are their Action Replay codes to obtain Mew & Celebi or can somebody help me with that (such as a wild Pokemon modifier)?

Edit: Traded from an English game for the time being. Have a look.

SM has some videos about the Korean Gold/Silver versions, mostly glitches, but here's a video about international trading.

Yeah if that video is correct, we overlooked something pretty major.
At the moment I don't have a Korean save file far enough along to try linking RBY.

I think the event enabling the Time Machine was removed from Korean Gold & Silver.
Bill is supposed to talk to you as soon as you enter the Pokemon Center in Ecruteak.
I just spent about 3 hours playing Korean Gold, without being able to read a letter of Korean, to reach that point and nothing.
Just to make sure I went back to Bill's family or whatever in Goldenrod, then came back to Ecruteak. Nothing.
I can upload the save (bgb) if you'd like.

It's fine. I'm just trying to avoid unnecessary speculation.

Related to this, I'd added in a to-do that Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo, may also also unobtainable. But it'd be bad form to add to the article with insufficient evidence.

Pokemon Gold Korean Save file

Maybe it wouldn't work as proof the Bill event never happened. But due to the 24-hour waiting period in the other versions, it might be detectable if (I assume) the Time Machine remains unavailable.

The Kanto-only Pokemon probably would remain unobtainable, though at least the Kanto starter line should still be visible as I believe they're all used at some point by other trainers. I think the fossils might have all been used at some point too.

Kanto Starter families are used as soon as you swim over into Kanto, and also by trainers in the battle tent IIRC

Yeah they'll need to be indicated which ones are only in trainer battles, or never appear.
Either way it looks like their Pokedex entries are something few people ever saw.

Edit: I might want to rephrase the part about the character set. The credits are apparently in English.
