Even six years later, and it's been obsoleted, I'm still pretty proud I made this little run. For someone who's not very code-savvy, it was an honest-to-god achievement for me.

So what are your little accomplishments? Maybe stuff that doesn't seem important to other people, but important to you.

Does stuff like "getting in-game achievements" count? Because if so:

People seem to play New Leaf for maybe one hour a day then get bored in less than a year, but I've still kept up with my town and played every day. I managed to get all but two medals just before a convention! (Last two are for plucking 2000 and 5000 weeds, so I gave up on those.)

I couldn't imagine the dedication it'd take to make a TAS to nail so many AC:NL medals.

Learning how to live on my own. When I moved out with my then-girlfriend, now-best friend, I was terrified of not knowing basic upkeep, cleaning, etc.

Turns out it's real simple.

I felt super proud when I cleaned our bathroom. Scrubbed the shit--somewhat literally--out of the floor, toilet, etc. and made the bathroom smell awesome.

Other silly things:

- Getting every puzzle piece in that goddamned Streetpass Mii Plaza. At least before the Monster Hunter panel's release last week... I'm down to one blue piece and all of the pink pieces now.
- Replacing my PC's 240W PSU for a 500W PSU in order to power a new (read: refurbished but still badass and cheap) GPU I got over this past winter break
- Cleaning out the massive amount of dust in my CPU's heatsink and flipping my case's side fan in order to improve airflow and keep temperatures real low
- Discovering the deliciousness of a Taco Bell Quesarrito and Crunchwrap Supreme
- Giving out 10/10, 5-star reviews for shitty little establishments like Taco Bell to help associates stick out to management and, hopefully, get a raise or something better
- Cooking some simple recipes. I cooked the former for my buddy and his girlfriend as a thank-you for letting me stay at their apartment until my housing situation at UC Santa Cruz opens up (and it has! I'll be moving into an on-campus apartment the Saturday after thsi upcoming Saturday). They loved the food.
- Donating to AGDQ 2015

I dunno! Hi.

Most of the credit for the site's popularity really goes to Xkeeper, being the one that wiki-fied it and set up the social media accounts, but I'm still pretty proud of what my little (broken) website turned into.

This. It's a shitty little game I wrote in the space of four days. There isn't much to the game, and the code isn't that good and if I were to rewrite it now, I'd probably end up doing it so much better in just so many different ways. But hell, I made this. I went from barely understanding how to program to making an actual, playable game, and now I'm writing more complex code in the simplest of ways.

PROGRESS.

KLayout v3.1
Various fun hacking things that I never (or that will probably never be) finished, like:

- trying to remake SMB levels to Super Mario Land 2
- remaking Wood Man's stage in Wario Land 3 for whatever reason
- doing the same for a SMW level while fighting with the GBC palette limitations so the graphics wouldn't look like absolute garbage

Honestly I haven't really done much else that I can think of. Most of the other things are either unfinished or joke things that never went anywhere.

And if it counts:

- Getting a test ABII to work after fixing loads of broken stuff (possibly due to the PHP configuration I have (?))

This isn't that much of a achievement, but oh boy was it difficult to do this. Densha de GO! 64 at 100% (I was going to put a screenshot or a video here but NOPE technology is being a failure again).

It is way more difficult than you probably would think it is, and I'm proud that I was able to do it. I might try to record me trying to get 100% again, but meh, not really interested in doing that right now.

Either way, let me explain, Densha de GO! 64 is a great train simulation arcade game that is way more strict than any train line in the world. This "port" of the game (the original being Densha de GO! 2) is actually very difficult to beat.

You start a stage with 60 points, losing 5-50 when you break the rules and gaining 1-5 points when you try to be "clever" (a.k.a. trying to obey even more rules). Also remember that you lose points easily and gain points quite rarely.

If you lose all of your points, you'll get a countinue. Lose all of your countinues, game over, start the stage again. Once you do pass the stage, you get a star depending on how many countinues you got (Bronze=2+, Silver=1, Gold=0).

Did I mention that this game is unfair? Because it is. It is unfair.

I've got a few accomplishments I'm happy about. I'm generally happy for what I have contributed to TCRF. I'm also happy about a model viewer I coded up from scratch (with a lot of help/input from xdaniel about what to look for). In an extremely weird way, it is almost a game in its own right. Not only did it help me improve my coding skills and taught me a lot but it also gave me a better appreciation for model viewers that I have used for documenting stuff on TCRF.

blargSNES. It's a SNES emulator for the 3DS. It's far from being finished but it does its thing rather well.

The codebase it's based on, lolSNES, was a failure, but this one is more successful.

Oh and after nearly one year, I completed a NSMBWii level.

I still can't fucking believe we haven't replaced that thing yet, good gracious. I made that logo in Paint in about 10 minutes.

Frankly, I like it and it works great. Doesn't need to be elaborately done over a long time to work good. Sometimes good shit's done in ten minutes.

This.

It's like for messageboard softwares, it doesn't have to be a vBulletin style complexity monster to work fine. (although making a good board takes more than 10 minutes)

Simplicity is the best.

I cataloged every single model file in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, totaling over 3000 files. I haven't exactly done much with this information, but I found a lot of neat stuff for TCRF.

It took a while, but I enjoyed every minute of it, and just thinking about it makes me happy.

So you're saying you found a few stars while on your search through the galaxies?

also re: TCRF, I know it "works", I just wanted something better. Something more visually interesting. Something not Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout.

This was pretty amazing too. 1325 edits. I think it's the second best number we have or something like that.

This blog layout.

I tried a lot of themes for my WordPress blog but none of them really tickled my fancy.

So I gave up and wrote my own look in CSS. Also that’s how I taught myself CSS.

I still update it from time to time.
