Hi all,

Was recently looking into Epic Mickey and Epic Mickey 2 files and I noticed there are some pretty large files amongst the level files with names like sh_testmap.pak and eb_villagetest.pak. Anyone got any ideas on how to get them to load up in game perhaps? EM seems to use a different version of Nif that isn't compatible with Nifscope.

The simplest way would be to pull a switcharoo.

Figure out which PAK file is for the first level of the game. Then simply replace that PAK file with the PAK file in question. Then just start a new game and, if you're lucky, the game will load the files.

To expand on this; there is a possibility that it will only work when a certain level is swapped (e.g. because the test levels could need things that are only loaded for certain level file names - which might not include the first level).

Edit:
edit, edit

Edit2: I know.

Ya, it ultimately depends on the game. Different games act differently when you start moving around files. I just listed the simplest possible way to load an unused level. Hell of a lot easier than trying to figure out how the game determines which files to load and creating cheat codes.

I know it's been a while, but thank you for the answers! One final question: What program should I use to recompile the iso? I can dump all the files on Dolphin and do the switcheroo, but I'm not sure how to recompile them.

I'm not sure what tool you would use to rebuild a Wii ISO since I've never done it before. If it were a GameCube game I'd say use GC-tool since that lets you rip apart and rebuild ISOs. Try looking at utilities on this page. One of them can probably rebuild Wii ISOs.
