Modest Mouse's The Moon & Antarctica

It's an extremely pleasant album, not reaching the heights that were set by Lonesome Crowded West but exploring various genres and improving upon flaws that the band has had. The first song always makes me smile, the lyrics just plain beautiful at times.

"The universe is shaped exactly like the Earth, if you go a straight long enough you'll end up where you were"

Heard this song on the radio a couple times since I found a new rock station in the area to listen to. Catchy.

In a completely change of theme, I got to hear, uh, this.

The reason?
It may be because of a certain dance course I still go to every Monday evening...

I need to play this game again. I also need to grab New Blood and download Under the Knife 2 and Trauma Team, given they weren't released in Europe

I am drowning
There is no sign of land
You are coming down with me
Hand in unlovable hand
And I hope you die
I hope we both die

Sloppy translation incoming!

Inspiring youth power
The burning youth's hearts swell
The joy flowing out from the uniform
Petals of a flower fall to the shoulder

Flowers shine, full of hope
Our youth's strength can compete

Purehearted sweet willpower
The sportsman's shining eyes
Your delights inside
A rainbow arises as the victory song plays

Mercy to the deeply fervent life
Our youth's strength can compete

End of translation

It's apparently National Sports Festival of Japan's official anthem, and it's rather charming. It was/is used as a corporate anthem in Sega (of Japan) (More can be found on Sonic Retro). Somehow, I can also see it being Japan's national anthem too. (Some lyrics would have to be tweaked, obviously)

It should be noted I couldn't find a translation, so the one above was done by me.

Pressed Pennies - Jake Chudnow. The feels, man, the feels. It starts a little creepy, but after that, it just gets amazing. I think a lot of people know it from Vsauce.

By the way, I think that Jake Chudnow makes awesome music. If you liked this one, you should probably check out the other ones. They kind of have the same style as this one.

This, and BT - Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved) were the two songs that definitely got me into electronic music even though I was already quite into it.

definitely one of my most favorite songs, the sampling is off the wall yet works so well. Also, throwing a epilepsy warning for the video! Couldn't find the song without the video..

This is the only song that fits to a Wily Castle in Wily Wars.

Wily Stage 4

And yet, I've heard this in a Sonic hack I don't remember the name.

The Mario Golf 64 soundtrack.

I played this game so much, it's one of my favorites from the N64. It also has a very relaxing soundtrack. I could listen to this for an entire day. Favorites (in no particular order): Toad Tournament, Create a Character, Koopa Cup, Koopa Park...you know what? This will go on for a while, so let's just say the entire soundtrack is my favorite. There we go.

I just finished listening to Lightning Bolt's Ride the Skies. Kinda intense and frenetic noise rock, so it's probably not in everybody's taste; it'd be cool if anybody else here liked it, though.

I've gotten into vaporwave recently, and it's been quite an adventure. The music is surprisingly diverse, though, so it never really feels like I'm listening to the same kind of music all the time. Regardless, something about it as a whole appeals to me. I suppose it's still a bit of a guilty pleasure, though.

Anyway, here are a few of my favorite songs thus far:

Sacred Tapestry - 移住

Macintosh Plus - 数学

Blank Banshee - Ammonia Clouds

PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises - Seasons

Vektroid - Untitled

ESC不在 - Tonight on HBO

マクロスMACROSS 82-99 - Bad Girl (w/ Lancaster)

If anyone has any recommendations, I'd be happy to hear them.

If you want some good vaporwave, try CYBER CITY DREAMS or stuff from 猫 シ Corp.
