Hi

First post here although I've been a reader of TCRF for a while now.

I've been doing some reversing work on the Taito L System arcade games and have discovered an Easter egg/stage select in 5 of the games. The activation method for the Easter egg is the same for all games.

I've posted a lengthy explantion of how to activate the Easter egg and which games use it on UKVAC (where I'm a regular poster)

http://www.ukvac.com/forum/taito-l-system-easter-eggs-test-code_topic341691.html

And also the mirrored the post to the MAMEworld forums

http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=333834&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&new=1414383223

I hope someone can add this info to the wiki as I've never done anything like that myself before and wouldn't want to break anything!

I've also discovered a service mode Easter in Namco's Baraduke/Alien Sector arcade board. It was actually me who discovered the Pac-Land arcade board service mode Easter egg/high score table credits which is in the wiki (I can point you to the thread on UKVAC where I revealed the original info if you want).

To activate the Easter egg in Baraduke/Alien Sector do the following :-

1) go into service mode
2) press P1 RIGHT once to change the selected sound effect to '01'
3) press the service credit button (defaults to '9' in MAME) to display the screen calibration grid
4) push P1 LEFT 4 times
5) push P1 RIGHT once
6) push P1 LEFT twice
7) push P1 RIGHT five times
8) push P1 FIRE button

Also, in the same game, if you enter your name in the high score table as any of the following you get a multicoloured rainbow flashing effect for 8.5 seconds ($200 vblanks). I guess this was the dev team for the game.

KISSY
TAKKY
MAKO.
JUNKO
YURI.
FIGER
NKGT.
WATAB

Kissy and Takky are players 1 and 2 in the game, respectively. Figar could be a reference to Figar, the green dragons in Dig Dug.

Awesome finds, by the way!

Thanks!

I believe Kissy is Yoshihiro Kishimoto, the programmer of the game, who also did Pac-Land. Takky is Yukio Takahashi, the game designer. Yuri (Yuriko Keino) and Junko (Junko Ozawa) were the sound composers. I think Mako is Makoto Inoue, the hardware designer. NKGT is Norio Nakagata who also worked on the sound for the game.

That just leaves WATAB and FIGER. You could be right though, FIGER could be related to Figar in some way.

I'll add this later for you.

Can I also send the cheat codes to gamefaqs? They will appear under my name though, unless you send them on your own.

Awesome work! I can tell you right now that if you manage to find anything nifty in Raimais I will be positively giddy. I love that game.
