In the North American/European versions of the game, due to a linking between this game and Ciel nosurge which took place on Gusts's servers the bonus boss in Ar nosurge is unfightable. Which in turn causes some bonuses from beating it (changing costumes and the ability to rotate the camera in a different direction than normal IIRC) to become non-unlockable. There was also some dialogue if you imported your Ciel nosurge save.

Basically for the bonus boss, it utilized a gimmick where you crafted an item that allowed you to "link" with other players fighting the same boss. So the boss which had an ungodly amount of HP could be brought down if enough people beat it and uploaded their results. As for the dialogue changes, that had to do with importing the data from your Ciel save which was uploaded to developer Gust's servers.

Not sure how advanced the PS3 scene is in terms of save hacking or looking at the files, but I was curious if Tecmo Koei/Gust actually removed the content completely or it became unusable in the western version due to the flags not being able to be set due to the server component removal. Since the Western localization was a little less than a year from the Japanese release, I'm thinking maybe they just dummied out the menus to connect to the server and the routines to unlock the stuff still exist.

If nothing else, it'd be interesting to see if the save can be modified to unlock the costume/camera bonuses. But if the other content still exists and is translated that'd be neat.

I'm not so experienced in this, but I can give you advice on how to try based on my own experience with FFXIII.

In the PS3 scene, you can use Bruteforce Savedata to decrypt your save, if hopefully it doesn't have second encryption routine you can begin working with it.

You must get a savegame from the JP version, that have the bonus features unlocked and, your own savegame. (You can begin searching here http://savedata.jp/ps3save/)

The most easy step to try is, to use Bruteforce's region changing feature, which creates a copy of the JP savedata with the game code of your own copy (like BLUS00980), then attempt to load your new savedata on the western ver. If your lucky the savedata will get loaded with some booty in.

If if doesn't work, then you must decrypt the JP and the western version savedata and begin comparing them side by side. I've used HxD hex editor for this. You can then, try pasting regions from savedata A to B and try loading B and take note on what changed. I recommend to have your savedata saved in the same area / savepoint / map of the JP one and if possible, have it the most close as posible to the JP one.

Good Luck!
