It's lunchtime here and I'm about to eat a crapload of food. Because that's all I've been doing ever since I came to China. Some 蛋包饭 (rice with tomato sauce inside an omelette), with some amazingly delicious steak, salad, and egg rolls (not the ones you're thinking though; this is literally just egg with tuna inside).

It's too easy to overeat with all the cheap delicious food here.

Woah, it’s been a while.

Today I marinated some chicken thighs in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and a little Sriracha sauce and then I preheated an oven to 425°F. I lightly greased a baking dish with bacon grease and then coated each thigh with flour¹, then an egg wash, then panko breadcrumbs¹. Then I placed the thighs skin side down on the baking dish and covered it with tinfoil and baked it for half an hour before turning it over and removing the tinfoil and baking it for another 20 minutes.

The result was this deliciously juicy baked chicken thigh with crispy skin. Yum!

¹ Seasoned with rosemary, thyme, parsley, sage, smoked paprika, sea salt, cayenne pepper and black pepper.

It's fun, considering I eat that in bandwagons, while I find the more "liquid" variant (Semolino) crap. Welp.

I just ate a cheese and pickle roll.
In my opinion that is the best combo even when many people think that idea is quite horrid, those people are usually the ones who have never tried it. They're missing out!

I had this enormous turkey drumette. I didn't expect it to be so large since chicken drumettes tend to be pretty small compared to chicken drumsticks. They were tasty and served with a side of rice.

Have you guys seriously not posted in this topic since April? Crazy.

Not exactly "right now" (right now I'm having a sausage omelette, side of white rice) but the other day at Starbucks, a friend's treat, I had none other than the Pumpkin Spice Latte.



It was terrible. Nothing like "liquid pumpkin pie". It has a poorly concocted flavor profile, incredibly sweet with jarring, confusing savory notes. It feels like a sloppy creation. Don't get me wrong—I can understand why this repulsive dose of autumnal commercialism is successful: a massive appeal to nostalgia. But I personally can't handle this. This is not Seattle-based anti-Starbucks cynicism (my drink of choice at Starbucks is the matcha frappucino) but man.
