My guess (other games did this), is that they took a font from a game (Street Figther) when the finished one wasn't done, then they used it for the Developer Menu.

In other words, no relation with another game (except for said font ).

OR they used the same basic skeleton to build all their fighting games, adding stuff when needed.

CPS games share assets. Capcom used the same font for virtually all their games in the early-mid '90s. This is nothing new.

Hi, so sorry to bump an old topic, but is there any chance some one could post all the un used forge sprites on here? and colossus and psylocke ones if possible, including the berea hat? . I am unable to rip themself.

I checked Message Test and in addition to location test message there is also references to scrapped alternate ending where Colossus tries to join Magneto.

Set language to United States (any language will do) and message type to Ending Message.

8E: [Join Magneto.] or [Refuse Magneto.]
8F/90: I have lost too many of my loved ones to Xavier's failed|dream. I will try yours.
98/99: I chose to follow Magneto because I cannot forgive the|humans for killing mother and father. But...

The sprites really aren't that hard of a rip. Add the cheat code to access debug mode into your favorite MAME, hop into it, take snapshots of the sprites you want to rip, and then bam. You have sprites!

Hi, Thanks or getting back to me. I have tried with no luck, it just want let me access the debug mode. Is there any chance you could napshot all the forge sprites for me??? It woud be really awesome if you could.

I'm sorry to bump up an old thread, but I was looking at Abystus' video again and I noticed there were at least two more sprites that went unused.

At 2:48 there's a teardrop that I've never seen used, although I suspect it was probably supposed to be used in Wolverine's ending. Not 100% sure if its ever used or not anywhere else.

At 4:28, the Carbonadium Synthesizer that appears in Omega Red's ending has a sprite where you see the inside contents of the container. Also at 4:30 the sprite has the synthesizer absent on the inside. I'm guessing that originally, the container was supposed to open up and show the contents inside before Omega Red had picked it up, but that doesn't happen in the actual ending. At 4:37, the synthesizer is outside of the container by itself and its shown at various angles, broken apart in pieces. All of these sprites go unused.

At 5:39, the cameraman in the yellow shirt who appears in Psylocke's ending is shown to be pointing the camera forwards, however this particular sprite goes unused because only the sprite where he's pointing the camera to his left is actually used.
