My first post on this forum, but I could have my instructor take a look at this. Her first language is Japanese, so she may be able to assist with translation.

-EDIT-
She took a look at it. She needed context as to why it made no sense, so I explained the game and shared pictures and she understood.

Her translation for the first one was: "Play the game you like. Old Boss is strong. Let's get him. Let's get the Big Bird."
Second translation was: "Let's protect the Nino Island. Let's get the twins: Appo and Da."

Oh, and in case there's confusion regarding who I am, I'm Chris, and I've been looking into the Legends 2 Debug build lately...

The image right above the text might be the texture used by this black gate in Downtown, which does allow access to an underground area, so that would make perfect sense:

(framebuffer capture; the texture sheet in question is the one loaded right to the left of the one with a lot of brown, on the bottom row... if that makes any sense? <.<)
