I got Firefox 29, sadly. I didn't like the way it looked. Blarg blerg. Kinda ugly (leaning towards Windows 8?), and trying to copycat Chrome even more. What's up with that? You need to stand out against the concurrency, Firefox, not imitate it! What's next, dropping Gecko for Webkit?

So, upon Nina's tips, I set the menubar to be enabled permanently, grabbed Stylish and set to work. So far:

(large screenshot)
(this is the maximized window. The normal window is the same except with a window border around it)

Colors and overall style taken from this board's default theme, Nostalgia.

I didn't do much regarding the address bar yet. I need to restyle the buttons and textboxes. And perhaps remove the google bar since I never use it. And for sure, remove that Chrome menu button that is pretty much redundant with the menubar.

Also, the tab bar behaves a little weirdly when closing tabs. If I knew what causes that...

But so far, it's nice. It looks really good with dark-themed sites like Acmlmboards. I feel like getting dark Stylish themes for sites like Youtube, Google or Facebook, too.

Also, if anyone knew the CSS selectors for opened menus, it'd be nice.

Cyberfox helps me avoid that idiotic Chromism nonsense Mozilla forced on people. After they do the beta test of their current version, it ought to be just fine.

Many people hate the new version, so you can always try for it in Cyberfox or Palemoon, unless your solo customization venture works out well enough for you.

Meh, curiously just after Mozilla started shoving the new interface, this little extension prominently popped up on the main page of Mozilla Addons (but now it doesn't anymore, bummer).

This said something on how many users like the new interface.

Anyway, after an insane customization on wading through multiple dialog boxes, Firefox becomes almost usable again.

Then, with many extensions it's no wonder why Firefox is slow

Of course, there's always Seamonkey with the classic pre-Firefox4 user interface.

So far, my solution has been to not update to FF29 o.o;

Probably a bad idea in the long run, but...

Meh, I consider updating Firefox 28 to Firefox 29 on the same level of updating Windows 7 to Windows 8. At some point in the "far" future you'll be forced to, if not by Mozilla by the webpages.

The third options is to use Firefox Forks (or SeaMonkey). Pale Moon is said to be a good one.

Anyway, I'm still waiting Nathan Lineback to write his own opinion on the "new" interface.

I will just stick to the forks myself.

This interface will, like the many others, end up being superseded by a different one anyway.
