What!? What?

Either Nintendo/TOSE wanted a roast Piachu, or the TOSE treatment of employees stories are true and they were starved.

Well...

I didn't discover it, and it isn't exactly unused content in games but... it is game console related and it is about "hidden" files.

Interesting, but it doesn't fit with this (sub)forum well, if at all. Post this elsewhere on the forum (like General Chat).

... I think I found out what game he's talking about. It could be a coincidence, but I think I figured it out.

I have the game on disc somewhere. Lemme dig it up and I'll get back to you.

Edit: Okay I checked the game and I didn't find anything Xena related. I -did- find a poster of a game character in a "sexy" pose but I dunno if it's used or not. Wonder if I should contact the guy... I might spook him.

Edit 2:
Oh, there's a reference to DOPEFISH in the game, too.

I remember I found this long time ago, but forgot to share it
In SMB3, in level 5-7, there's an inaccessible sprite in the level; changing the level length to 8F (normally 7F) in SMB3 workshop, and you can find a level goal card sprite, which indicates the level would have ended normally, instead of going to another area.
http://i.imgur.com/IfdlIAw.png

I wonder if there's more stuff like this in other levels O.o

Either that, or it was temporarily used to end the level before the next area was finished. Hard to say.

882D:02 causes an unused jingle to play in Battletoads (NES) but after the jingle plays, the level either resets or hangs. I want to assume that this is an unfinished level event. More info on this later.

Edit: This is actually a full song, just that the level resets just as the song's first section plays.

Fire Emblem 10's disk apparently has some early in-progress CG cutscenes from FE9.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95MdvN14TZU&feature=youtu.be

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5Vlz14N8mQ&feature=youtu.be

There are also music and higher quality CG stills on the disk, as noted in this thread:

http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=47694#entry3091068

FE9 had challenge maps which had remixed music from earlier in the series, so Alm's theme might indicate these maps were planned to return, or is another cutting room floor item from FE9.

More Game Boy Camera graphics coming later. Still need to create a proper way to access the classic very Hard modes in Game & Watch Gallery 2. Aside from that, I found a few extra unused songs in Donkey Kong Land 2 including Swanky's Theme, the bonus extravaganza, K Rool's Theme, and one other I can't recognise.

Were you playing the game in 16-color mode?

Hey everybody! I found some Game Boy Printer games. Well not actually games, more like unsupported games that have error rom text. Going to hopefully add this tomorrow.

Some of you may know I'm a hook programmer/modder for the Freelancer engine (a Chris Roberts-envisioned space sim from 2003). For those who didn't, you now do.

While digging around trying to trace a couple routines in Freelancer.exe, I found... bible references?

That string is referenced several times throughout the code but I can't seem to figure out *why*. It looks like it's used to initialize a couple strings, and most often after routines that do floating point math.

...Your guesses are as good as mine.

And what do we call it when something goes mildly horribly wrong?

(found as some kind of error handler in the trade lane physics bit)
