And you had this:

I noticed it was also in a first cut for the Spaceworld 2001 trailer (not the final version that was published):

May I ask from where you got that book picture from? I have never seen it before.

The book in the C-button icon has a more similar symbol to the pencil drawing's, though.

The guy gonetogo referenced to did the original HUD design for DP, as well as the 3D design for some of the props.
He sent me links to his site, unfortunately nothing new yet.

I'm also interested about that cheetah-Krystal, is there anything about early Sabre or Randorn (If they existed at that point)?

It was some artwork from a former Rare artist, though I wasn't sure whether it was related to DP.

That's unrelated to DP/SFA.

That book actually is the same book as on the C-button, it was just redone for that early GCN version and later scrapped.

Take a good look at the model GIFs you posted earlier and these concept drawings...

Not that I look at it again, I do recognise the labyrinth plant and the duster. But the others, especially the skeleton? Just because it's on the same page, it's not necessarily all related to DP/SFA.

I guess only Krystal and Falco are related to the game, even it's just a single image file.

Hello guys, just a couple of questions.
With these recent discoveries would it be possible to restore the original Dinosaur Planet game intended for the N64?
If not, what would it be needed?
Any news of a dump of the DP demo?
Thankss!

No, because the main DP executable is not present, which would be needed to tie all the bits and pieces together (and before you ask, no, this cannot be recreated from scratch).

That's my understanding of the problem, anyway.

That is a correct understanding, yes. No core executable, so unfortunately no recompiling. This is the one part we'd need for sure, though we don't know if other assets would also be needed. Both the retail game and this 2002 E3 prototype have been dumped, unless you meant an N64 prototype, in which case (as far as I know) we don't have one.

Hope that helps clear things up for you :3

Yeah, I meant the N64 prototype.
Dinousaur Planet was intended to be the N64 swan song and I really was waiting for it.
I hope that I can play it on real hardware someday (by a flashcart) =(

Anything new about getting past the protoype barriers at least? Hugo, can you explain how you got past the demo limits?

Maybe not the original N64 version. but it seems like people might be able to do a restoration project over the GCN engine. i would not mind the platform as long as to seee DP on a playable form tbh

Small update for those interested in playing this in Dolphin. Testing with 4.0-1601, the bad ps log spam and texture issues are fixed for both DirectX and OpenGL backends. The game still won't work correctly for me in dual core mode still. They say the OpenGL backend is faster than the DirectX one, but I get a smoother framerate with DirectX.

I believe it's video card manufacturer dependent, AMD is quicker with DirectX from what I hear, but Nvidia is quicker with OpenGL. Still, that's a good find.

Something new Dinosaur Planet related.

I mentioned before that there were more sequences near the end of AUDIO.bin that didn't appear to be songs. My hunch was that it was sequence data related to ambient sound effects. Turns out I might be right:

00000082 000EAD84
00000094 0011B308

I put these together a while a go to see if it came close to what I imagined. It might not be accurate, but it sounds good at least.

I don't have as much time to toy around with this as much as I thought, so it'd be nice if someone could take AMBIENT.bin and make a soundfont out of it and then apply it to the sequence data that come late in AUDIO.bin.
