So, question: Any of you remember GUN? Oh, of course you don't.

Well, GUN was a western-themed third-person shooter, coming out a year after Red Dead Revolver. It wasn't bad; fetched a good deal of 8/10s and 9/10s, if you care about review scores. You can probably find an emulator for it or find it for like 5 bucks at your local gaming store, or just read the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_(game)

GUN actually holds a special place in my memory as the first M-rated game I ever owned. Considering I only turned old enough to buy it in August (If the store goes by 17+, anyway), it's honestly kinda shocking that my parents got it, but whatever.

We're not talking about the game, however; we're talking about Last Call Poker.

"What the hell is that?" I hear you ask.

Last Call Poker was an ARG from 42 Entertainment (The guys who did I Love Bees and Why So Serious?, no less) that was meant as promotional material for GUN. In all technicality it was an online poker website, but the 'story' behind the website (If my memory serves correct, it was the last will of the central character of the ARG Lucy's grandfather or something to make the site) was a bouncing off point for online puzzles, real world missions in cemetaries, online poker with dead characters, and rewards in the form of new stories and videos (According to wikipedia).

It had some 500,000 participants(Again, according to wikipedia), but while something like I Love Bees and The Beast are still prime examples of ARGs that are talked about today, Last Call Poker seems to have faded entirely from memory (Almost like GUN, funnily enough).

Maybe it's because it was a dated style of ARG. Maybe it was because it never got completed fully.

The important thing is that I have absolutely no clue why it faded because the only link that apparently compiled everything about the ARG ( http://www.42entertainment.com/poker.html ) IS A DEAD LINK. Thanks, Obama.

The most complete source of information I've found about the thing is a blog ( http://www.intellinuts.com/lastcallpoker/ ). If you've got an afternoon free, check it out, because it's actually kinda interesting.

I don't really know why I'm making this thread aside from to draw a bit of attention to both GUN and LCP.

Also, since that was my first post on the forum; Hi! I'm Fiction. I found the wiki a month or so ago and was incredibly interested in it, and I just sorta decided to make an account for the forum in case I ever wanted to post something (Like a topic about an ARG that no one remembers whose only purpose is to mention that no one remembers it). I'm not technologically minded so I highly doubt I'll ever contribute in any meaningful way (Even though I really want to see a GUN article because, again, it's near and dear to me).
