I used to have WASD+numpad, until I got a laptop. Then I had to move these numpad keys to a different place.

Now, for example, my NES layout has Q for ⓢ, E for Ⓢ, J for Ⓑ and L for Ⓐ.

The Genesis layout has UIO and JKL standing for ⓍⓎⓏ and ⒶⒷⒸ respectively. Q is Mode, E is Ⓢ.

The SNES layout is a bit more interesting. J is Ⓑ, K is Ⓐ, U is Ⓨ, I is Ⓧ, Q and O are Ⓛ, E and L are Ⓡ. It is laid out in this way so that SNES Street Fighter II's button layout is close to the arcade version.

This game always brings back memories (September 2013, no less :/).

Now that I think about it, isn't the difficulty slightly easier here than the in final version?
How the potions in the boss battles work are the opposite though.

Bought Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Seasons on the 3DS. Started off with Ages and I'm stuck. Can't figure out how to get to the Restoration Wall, though I did manage to do the trading sequence up to the Cheesy Moustache, though I imagine that isn't relevant until later.

EDIT: Well, now I'm not stuck. I already tried the solution, but evidently, I wasn't stood on the precise pixel >:|

Ending note for a while.

YES! I'VE FINALLY BEAT BALLANCE! AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!

I didn't really think there was a paper ball thing hidden in the very final part. I was trying to get the stone ball go quick very quickly through the final, losing all my lives. I had to go very slowly in that part, but still I got to finally see the ending, where the ball is carried away by an UFO.

Now, Welcome to the Twilight Zone...

I've decided to go out of my element and play Rune Factory 4. I've never touched the series before so this is actually new to me. I have played it for a few days and it is, so far, enjoyable. I'm not the biggest fan of games with RPG elements since I dislike the concept of grinding. It does nothing to advance the story. That said, since it has been a LONG time since I've played an RPG, I don't mind it too much at the moment.

I'd be playing something now if it I didn't have to disable the display driver due to crash and BSODs.

Everything lags. Shit, I better reinstall the NVIDIA display driver. Last time it worked...

Beat Oracle of Ages and linked my game to Seasons! Currently have half of the dungeons done. I forgot that Seasons has it's own Windmill Hut, so hearing the Song of Storms again was a great surprise. I then proceeded to spend about 10 minutes in the Windmill Hut before moving on. I may be an addict.

I'm currently trying to clip into the hut in Star Fox Adventures that holds the portal to the General Scales battle as Krystal, to see if the portal object is loaded(and therefore can beat the game rather quickly)... And I am having a lot of difficulty with it >.> Also, the wind tunnel on the floor with the watery window and the two wind tunnels leading to/from the top don't actually lift you, though the UP tunnel still has the camera cues, locking the camera if you make your way up that tunnel. Hmm...

After three years of putting it off, I finally got around to taking a chip at my backlog of games and started Solatorobo: Red the Hunter for the DS. It's the sequel/successor to the PlayStation title Tail Concerto, a game about furries with airships.

There's a surprising amount of content in this game for being such a beautiful DS game. The art style it uses makes you feel like you're playing in an anime movie, albeit a very pixelly one. But graphical/audio limitations aside, it's quite enjoyable. I really like all of the character and location designs, especially the different floating islands. I've probably already put over 8 hours into it, and I'm about halfway through the game. Oh, and I guess I should mention that all of the combat/puzzles rely entirely on picking up/throwing objects, which works surprisingly well in scenarios you'd expect to be wielding swords and guns.

My only real complaint with it so far is with the quests. The quests are enjoyable, and make creative use of limited assets (unlike another game I can think of... PSZ...), but the problem is that I assumed the quests to be optional. You know, side stuff to pass the time with and get money. But, certain parts of the story require you to be a certain Hunter Rank, which means clearing enough quests to earn hunter points. That in itself isn't bad, but the problem is that there are only just enough quests to give you the points you need (plus some minigames) so that progressing in the story requires you to clear every single quest available before you can move on. I don't know if that's how other games do it, but I just found the lack of choice to be a bit disappointing.

Update: I beat it, with about 16.5 hours spent total. Still have quests to do, though. Maybe it's just me, but the game seems rather easy. Never died in any fight, and never had to resort to any special super moves. The only time I ever failed at something was when I missed a quiz question. The hardest part of the game was probably when I had to navigate a gently-curving diagonal path with no walls using the D-pad.

Wario Land (1) ROM + VBA-RR + Boom-plus.lua = loads of fun

Invalid opcodes ahoy! Never understood the need to close the ROM when it crashes. Good thing this version runs with Ctrl-F1 the most recent ROM.

As my title suggests, I have been playing games by Konami's music game division, Bemani, mainly Beatmania IIDX. I started playing this about 4 years ago and am still playing fairly often to this day. On the difficulty scale of 1-12, I have been able to clear about 11 of the 100+ Level 12 songs available and with most of the Level 11 songs cleared. Using the class ranking system in the game, I am a 9th-dan (九段) player, which is the third highest class in the game, so I am a pretty good player. A run of me playing the course can be seen here (unlisted because reasons), to give you an idea of the difficulty of the game. I plan on streaming this starting tomorrow, so if you would like to see it, here is a link to my channel. I'm on IRC so I'll notify people there with a message and then a nick change. You can also see my current stats in the game on my sig image as I play since it updates periodically.

In the same vein, I have also been playing the international iOS versions of Jubeat and Reflec Beat, also by Bemani. I have been able to clear every chart on Reflec Beat after purchasing every available music pack. Similarly, I have been able to clear every chart on Jubeat that I have purchased. Both are touch-based, but are still very fun to play. I got a first generation iPad specifically so that I can play those games since they are only available on iOS.

Outside of Bemani, I have been playing other games. I have recently started Super Mario Galaxy 2. I currently have about 50 stars right now, just finishing World 3. I am having a lot of fun with it, more than I did with the first Galaxy. I don't even remember if I finished the first one. The levels are fun to run through and the orchestrated music is so awesome to listen to while playing.

I also started playing my long-ago Etrian Odyssey I game. I stopped partway through exploring the first floor of the last stratum, so I figured I'd play the game to finish it now that EOIV and Untold have been released. I was in the middle of grinding for money for some reason, so I decided to instead start doing some of the quests I've been putting off. I still think the hardest part of the game is coming up with names.

I played both Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and A Link Between Worlds and found them both to be very fun games. I completed them a while ago, and was intending to play their hard modes, but I haven't found the motivation to do so.

Loooots of Mass Effect. Unfortunately, the PS3 port of at least the first one is pretty terrible. Playable, but quite buggy. It's also quite unoptimised, with the PS3 hardware not being good enough to handle it, resulting in noticeable FPS dips.

Also, knockdowns are the worst game mechanic ever. Except for quick-time events.

Um... oops.

That's something I didn't know about. Usually with a damaged save data file the save resets without saying anything... not this time. The save data got deleted anyway.

Yeah, the PC port has some issues too. On PC at least they got their shit together for ME2 and 3, hopefully it'll work out the same on PS3.

Mass Effect beaten! Third time total, first on the PS3. Reached Level 50! Now I've got to go through it again (and perhaps a third time) to reach Level 60 and drag a perfect file over in to Mass Effect 2.

Gonna have to start looking at some experience tips to make sure I don't have to do a third playthrough of ME in a row.

So far in Solatorobo, I've managed to clear all the quests, maxing out my hunter rank. Oddly, this still hasn't maxed out my Library, so I guess I will have to replay some of the quests to fill it up. Also, I'm missing just two photo fragments. Just two!

This week I finally got all the Green Stars, Gold Flags, and Stamps in Super Mario 3D World. All that's left is the most ridiculous world of them all...

Speaking of Wario Land, I better try to finish Wario Land Shake It. That final boss is HARD, even compared to the one from Wario Land 4's Hard Mode.
The first three phases are innocent enough, although I find it quite easy to accidentaly get hit and lose coins. Then the final "lightning bolt" phase, pure insanity. Those lightning patterns, just no. It's worse than the WL remake using SMW's engine (that is for the limitations of the engine and "ASM hacks").

I never managed to beat the final boss there, which says something on the difficulty. Uh uh.

I've been playing Half Life Opposing force since I am stuck in the regular Half Life and Blue Shift.

It's fun playing as the government going out to kill Gordon Freeman and all of scientists on the way.

Got Bioshock: Infinite through PS+. Had to restart it twice. The first time, I got myself lodged between two tram cars on a skyrail. Couldn't reverse direction or target another one, so restart. The second time, I got off the same skyrail, only for the controls to lock up. The most I could do was look down the sights of my gun. At that point, I just gave up. Hopefully, the 1.06 patch I didn't install the first time fixes that.

Whaaaaat, I wanted to play my game, not wait half an hour for a patch.
