I'm on the evil, colour-warping work computer with the evil, colour-warping monitor of doom. Hence I can't see what the colours are like, and if they are OK.

But I've done a layout with CSS only, no images. It's a bit darker than the old layout, and a different colour (I couldn't think of anything so I spun a random colour wheel).

I can't see what the contrast and stuff is like, but I guess I'd like to know if it's all readable and such.

It's fine.

Though it could use a "min-height: 220px;". Other than that it looks readable and nice.

It's a smidgen bright, and those aren't exactly the nicest colours ever. I'd darken it quite a bit and use white text.

The yellow is just... a little too yellow honestly.

I would bring the saturation down, or like HH said, darken them.

I'll have to have a look at it on a computer with decent colour management. This thing sucks. Course, it IS a 17" Mitsubishi Diamond Digital monitor with all kinds of gamma and contrast issues and the resolution of a 15"...

I might try spinning the colour wheel a few more times too, see what else it comes up with. I don't think they're so bad though for random colour selections

EDIT: And it's GREEN, not YELLOW. GAHH this is what I mean by this monitor having colour issues.

Heh, I used to have a monitor with serious color problems- I just recently replaced it with this one, which is so old that it has the old style "Gateway 2000" logo on it, but at least it shows colors correctly

Your layout looks pretty good, even if it is yellow...

Well, I spun the Colour Wheel again, and here's more randomness.

Again I've no idea if it actually looks any good -- the colour issue with the monitor and all. It's probably brighter than the last one and there's possibly contrast issues again (those can be tweaked on a different monitor later).

I think the pink is cute, but I think I like the purple more. The green and yellow you started with actually didn't look that bad to me either (other than being a bit .. bright, somehow.) but I definitely like the cream and purple. *nod*

Both look pretty good, but many have said arleady, purple just has "that" something that makes it better.


But both colors look good enough to be a layout I wouldn't block if it was possible (and if I had layouts enabled =O)
