This 44 minute long video comes from a disk that was supposed to be on some game stores during the days prior to the launch of the original Nintendo DS in Spain, and remained in the stores for a copule more weeks after that.

Honestly i don't really own any games for the NDS, so i don't even know if this is proto footage, or just final footage of the launch-day games. ( as it is stated on the video, the DS sold 3 million units worldwide when this was redistributed in Spain ). I think, however, it might be interesting to see, at least for the awsome "turd-launch-into-pug" action part of the commertials.

May something interesting be found.

This is my first post here so i might have placed it on "weird discoveries" or something, but, i am not even sure. Admins, feel free to remove / move / edit this thread ( EDIT: VIDEO HAS BEEN PROPERLY ADDED )

Under the video title, click "Share", then Embed. Make sure to check "Use old Embed Code".

Copy the embed code and paste it into your post. Like this:

Example:

<object width="420" height="315"><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/2k3_048tPuI?version=3&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Basically (a picture is worth a thousand words):

Also, welcome to Jul.

Well, thanks for the tip, and for the welcoming ^w^ I'm quite a lurker over here, but i fail at doing research and stuff, but yeah, i thought this would be an interesting find. So far i see a lot of japanese text, but it can be still final content.

The video generally shows the Japanese version of the games.

Anyway, I didn't know about "how to embed a video" either, until I found it by accident on post 220.

Until then I said "too many embeds on the page, I'm not adding another one" (which is partially true, considering the some threads have many embeds, and I use 100 post view ).

Welp, why not? You can try to see if there are any differences with the text.

Well, That would be nice, probably there's something interesting in there.

Also, the Metroid segment of the video seems to be very early.

Well, I can't really see if there are any differences, as Metroid isn't my m"main" series.

Even if it did, I couldn't find any differences due to my monitor failing.

I don't own the games... or even a DS so I wouldn't really know if there's any differences... ^^;

I still have my original DS with MPHFH. I might be able to find a difference or two although I'm not sure I want to sift through a full 43 minutes of a video I can't understand... at least not at the moment.

Also, did anyone else laugh at the first few seconds of the video ? The original DS was like a boat anchor. If you could actually fit it into your pocket then nothing else would fit in it. I mean look at the video, the DS is buldging and sticking out of his pocket .

I remember my GBA SP could fit in my whole pocket, a very nice thing.
Then the DS came along and... you know the results.

Funny commercial, though, and I myself haven't played Metroid Prime Hunters either, so sorry for not being helpful there :/

I've played MPH (like 2 times back in 2006 and 2007) and it was such a disappointment. By that time I had already played MF, MZM and SM. From what I remember, the bosses were boring and redundant as hell since they recycled the same 2 bosses over and over again. Half the fun of boss fights is figuring out how to defeat them and if you just recycle bosses then it becomes boring.

The power ups were a joke since all they did was modify your beam but not in a way that mattered. Certain beams would open certain doors but beyond that, they didn't do much more. What I enjoyed about MF, MZM and SM was the exploration (more so with MZM and SM). You would start off with a basic beam and then gain a variety of power ups that would let you explore areas even further. Beyond beams, MPH ditched that. What sucked even more was the fact the game was like delayed for like a year and this was the final result.

Once I played the single player twice, I never went back to it. Hell, I hardly even remember the story. To its credit, the multiplayer was pretty fun. The battles were always pretty engaging and it was awesome that it had NWFC. In retrospect, I guess the game did succeed as a multiplayer game on the DS but it didn't come close to satisfying what I enjoyed in the 3 other Metroid games I mentioned.

I usually never make such mistakes. , but alas, writing on the sofa, while the CRT monitor stands in the other direction is not nice. :/

The Super Mario 64 DS stuff looks final, too bad there is nothing on New Super Mario Bros.

I think Kirby and Metroid need a look at.

Logo aside, Kirby Canvas Curse looks the same as the final. The art is definitely the same, and it looks like the level design is, too.

Well, I took some time to get a very last detailed look at most the games.

It's still the same as the final version. Only some minor differences for some reason.

Still, someone with more knowledge of the Metroid series needs to take a look at it.
