So it's been out for a while now and if you're a FPS fan, why haven't you bought it yet?
Orange Box comes packed with Half life 2, as well as HL2 Episode 1 and 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2
Initially I just bought it for Portal, and Episode 1&2. I played Portal first, and I thought that ALONE was good enough to warrent the pricetag despite being a bit short.
Finally, after buying it a few months ago I downloaded Team Fortress 2 since I noticed it getting alot of hype, and since it was available on my steam I figured "Why not?"
Oh my god. Why did I wait so long? If you enjoy competitive multiplayer online FPS games even in the slightest, please do yourself a favor and buy Orange Box, or at least get TF2 off Steam.

I'll be picking it up when christmas rolls around, if it didn't have portal I probably wouldn't be buying it honestly. Aside, TF2 probably won't be my cup of tea, but the other elements of the package look friendly. I'm no FPS nut, but I do like them when they're good.

 | | I've gotten quite picky on FPS games. Didn't buy that, Halo 3, or Bioshock. But do have an early collector's edition of Half-Life 2 PC (Xbox was free) and just got UT3 for PS3. Among others. Found Call of Duty 2/3/4 to be great on 360.
I'd probably buy more of them for PC if they had full gamepad support. Windows FPS games tend to have only partial. Just not keen on KB+M, despite how fanatics continue to rave about its praises over and over.

Back in the day, along with Counter Strike, I whored Team Fortress Classic. I knew TF2 would be amazing, I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet (Have a budget card in this PC at the moment, tends to be finicky about Source).

I think Portal looks fun, however this computer can't handle it at all (thank you onboard graphics card  ).
If my computer was more updated with the essentials I'd definitely not waste any time in getting this set. A fan of Half-Life? I am a bit. Fan of TF? Depends...
Portal, though, looks like a freaking fun game with moist delicious cake.

Why would you want to play an FPS with a gamepad? Mouse + Keyboard clearly has superior accuracy :<
Edit - Eh, now that I think about it I suppose it's a matter of opinion. Gamepads/Console Controllers tend to feel awkward to me when playing an FPS. I guess I've just been a PC gamer for too long :x

I do better with a gamepad, actually.
I'm hopefully going to be getting this for Christmas. I rented it a while ago, and really want it back. TF2 is good enough on it's own. Portal is amazing, but damn short. |

Gahh.. it looks like everyone else is getting it for 360 and not PC D:
Doesn't anyone here use Steam?
TF2 on 360 is badly badly limited.. only 16 players in online, and no custom maps.

My brother installed Orange Box on my computer...The only thing I've played of it has been Portal though.

I've heard it's very good. There's a catch though.. PC version is infinitely better than the X360 version so anyone who gets the 360 version might be happy, but going BEYOND HAPPY means getting the PC version.

You'd think "Oh, limited to 16 players and no custom maps? That isn't so bad." Well, if you've actually play TF2 on PC and with 24 players you'll find out that it's so much more better. And I'm not even touching the custom maps part, because it only comes with 6 maps by default and 16 players without customs is going to get boring FAST.

| | Yeah, the PC seems to be getting the love with Orange Box early on, what with custom maps and such. Hopefully it's only a matter of time before modders come out with a mappack for Portal (some individual maps are already available  )

I've heard a patch is coming out for 360 users to play with PC players
Don't take my word for it, though!
They're still be confined to 16 player matches, due to lolxbox360 limitations.
