Haha, looks like I'm also eating something simple yet I haven't had it in years: Peanut butter
Yes, I am literally just eating peanut butter. Reminds me of the old days I'd just do that quite often. I could get bread but I don't feel like it.

Edit: Oh yes, it is the nice crunchy kind too! I love peanuts so it'd have to be crunchy. hehe

I've eaten a huge special today with ham, olive, mozzarella, tomatoes and some bread for lunch. It somehow managed to fill my stomach.

For dinner, a puny little soup instead.

Looks like tonight is my lucky night. The family is having some different pizzas being cooked and we'll eat while we watch some movies. I typically get the pepperoni pizza.

I absolutely love today.

I made a "breakfast-style" Salisbury steak with rice for dinner. I think Salisbury steak is usually considered cheap food but I really like how this came out. In fact, I liked it so much that I'm going to post my recipe so I can look back at this post whenever I want to remake it exactly.

Breakfast-Style Salisbury Steak
Heat a pan up to medium (about six). Form patties with ground beef about ¾ in thick, seasoned generously, and add to pan, making sure to flip every minute for six minutes and adding a little safflower oil halfway through. Then cover the pan for four minutes while continuing to lift the lid and flip the patties. Add a slice of cheese for the last minute. Then place patties on a plate and add butter to pan and fry eggs. Top patties with egg. Sprinkle grains-of-paradise, smoked paprika, sea salt and savory over eggs. Serve with rice and greens.
It's awesome but I also feel like there's way more I could be doing with this. Like, what if topped it off with Hollandaise sauce? Or gravy? Or béchamel? We'll see.

I'm excited because I feel like I'm going to make some fun foods the next few days since they ran out of really cheap drumsticks at the grocery store and the cheapest thing they have now is ground beef. I also grabbed some colorful rotini which I'm going to make into beef mac and cheese. I know, that's an unorthodox pasta shape for the task but damn it I'm really craving that whole deli rotini mac and cheese thing right now. Only mine won't be cold.

Edit: Apparently what I made already exists and has a name. It turns out it's pretty close to a Hawaiian dish called loco moco. Whodathunkit?

Woke up late, and quite hungry, so I just had a bowl of chicken flavoured noodles. Surprisingly filling, especially considering that it's less than 200 calories.

When I woke up today I wasn't hungry at all. Wierd. This, and that I woke up at eleven, made me go simplistic once again.

So I had just some bread and a can of tuna for lunch, but it still managed to fill me up. Ugh...

This thread reminded me I haven't eaten anything all day, again. I will take care of that with some simple sandwiches.
I say simple because there's not much besides a little bit of bread and a little bit of ham.

Acey says:

Potato chips! Specifically, Tim's Original--they're quite good. I got them with my sandwich at Boudin's, but I took them home.

The sandwich was EXCELLENT, btw--grilled cheese on sourdough!

An hot dog... with ketchup. Eaten at the school's cafè.

Boy, there is lots of good food there. However, I usually prefer not to eat there for some reason...

I've made some wierd and wonderful sandwiches recently to take to work. Whilst some sandwiches were good (mint sauce and grated cheese), others just didn't easily get down my mouth (A Sandwich with coffee beans. The beans melted overnight leaving me with two coffee-covered slices of bread).

The worst one was basically a flour sandwich. But it had somehow corrupted the whole of my lunch, so I ended up having to feed it to the birds. :-/ So now I'm through with being adventurous, I'm sticking with cheese and ham!

Kind of an odd choice for 4:36AM, but I bet you’ve done worse.

Today I picked up a 10-inch red velvet cake for $3 at the grocery store in the discount bakery section. I’ve been slowly hacking away at it since then. Between me and my partner, we’ve eaten half (mostly me, though).

It’s actually a really good cake. This is probably the cheapest cake I’ve ever bought.

I've just eaten a "fresh frozen" pizza. Yuck!

It's especially bad after watching a pizza restaurant episode on Kitchen Nightmares.

The other day I was at the Chinese market in the International District when I came across these mushrooms going $1.99 a package. They were these huge shiitakes with distinct cracks at the top. I’ve seriously never seen them so big and for so cheap! So I bought them and now I’m enjoying shiitakes with almost every meal. They’re so delicious. They have this amazing, umami-ful earthy flavor reminiscent of truffles. These might be the best ones I’ve ever had.

Last night I had them with homemade ハンバーグ, this morning with bacon, eggs and rice. The other night, I had them in macaroni and cheese. I wonder where they’ll be next?

It’s 2:30AM. I haven’t gone to bed yet because Thursday is my Friday.

So instead, I am eating Marionberry pie which I got at the grocery store's discount bakery section for $4.19. That’s a damn good pie for a damn good price. Yum!

Pasta this, pasta that... Italians restaurants are more often associated with pasta. This link must change... we are known for many other things ...

...uh anyway, I've just eaten some "blank" pasta. (irony )

Why? Guess who is not feeling quite well today...

Today my friend Louis and I went to my favorite dim sum restaurant in the International District and we had some Dim Sum together. We sat a communal table across from two gentlemen talking about business or something. The waitress offered us fried calamari, which I accepted and one of the dudes across from us said, “Good choice.”

The fried calamari was perfect—just the right amount of chewiness without being rubbery. It tasted fresh and the outside was crispy. But there was so much that we could only eat half of it. The dudes across from us did the same and they just left it there. So I turned the tray and poured their plate into ours and asked for takeout. Score.

So now I’m home with my girlfriend we’re enjoying some leftover calamari.

Now, I'm eating a super-ultra-oh-so-rare thing: air.

Quite simply, I usually cannot eat on breakfast (and I recover the "losses" the rest of the day).
If I do so, there's chance I get sick, something I wouldn't like to happen, especially in the mornings.

If I get up at 4-5 AM, then there's some chance of me eating at breakfast (bread and jam).
Too bad I never get up that early, unless I leave the fan on, which always wakes me up at 4 AM no matter what.
