So basically, the sort of thing many of us wish we had when we were younger. Too bad it's only in California though. It will probably only have limited effect. Better than nothing, though.

I doubt it will be any more helpful than the "Do Not Track" settings in browsers. Somewhere, someone will not care and will ignore the orders. Especially since they can't really do anything to force them short of blocking local access, which would in turn cause bigger problems than teens being held accountable for their stupidity.

What about websites that don't allow removing posts at all? Or those not hosted in the U.S.? Do they have to comply with this law, too?

In case if complying w/ the law is impossible, would a "Californians of age below 18 not allowed" block be enough?

It's a good-intentioned law for sure, but I think trying to legislate the Internet in such a way isn't a good thing.

It's mostly restricted for sites by companies that are aimed at children, and so as a result would probably be aimed at said sites allowing deletion of content.

That said, there are limitations in enforcement possibilities, so it's more of a suggestion than a hard and fast law for anyone who isn't a big time corporate site, I'd guess.
