Finally got a "new" standalone. YES!

Might spend some time trying to get some floppies so I can install first DOS, then Wfw 3.11.

I have a somewhat big collection of old software. I'll get to see how much shit I can put there without breaking anything.

Moved to my University accommodation today. Neighbours are noisy and the WiFi disconnects me every 30 minutes. Greeeaaaat.

Welcome to college!

Though to be fair my experience hasn't been that bad in the three colleges I've been so far.

I'm actually living in a basement suite without roommates this year! Which is great considering the less than stellar roommates I've had before..

Only problem right now is the internet sucks. The router's ancient, and it can't handle anything more than a couple Youtube videos before crapping out for the better part of a week.

Wow, this description makes my normal internet connection look like the best thing ever made.

Anyway, I just hope when I'll move to the University the connection will get better, but there would be only one small problem.
Said university is still in Italy, so I'll have to expect the usual, if not worse internet connection.

Also, now that I think of it, the modem under XP always said the download speed was 100 Mb/s (and after a couple of hours 10 Mb/s).

100 Mb/s. Here, In Italy. HA HA HA

Sometimes on the news pop up people saying there will be laws to get into the standard of the rest of the UE. This never happened. The connection speed was like this when I first bought my modem (2009), and it never ever changed.

So I need to start preparing to make a presentation (in Chinese of course) on Penicillin and its effects (and side-effects), antibacterials in general, and the potential crisis with drug-resistant bacteria. I also need to be prepared to answer any questions.

This will be a fun project! I just hope I can prepare well for all the potential questions, since I'm not completely familiar with how antibacterials work (but I'll research that and other stuff).

I'm starting to think about quitting Facebook, just logged in to find that someone posted a photo of a penis on my news feed (Not mine though). I'm surprised it hasn't been deleted yet.

Also, my son's just recieved a week's suspension from school, for shitting all over one of the class tables. Apparently his class teacher wouldn't let him go to the toilet to do his "number two".

That's gotta be the weirdest thing I've heard in a while

Exactly what I thought when I was told about my son being suspended!

I've had to lecture him about when the best times to go to the bathroom are, so that it doesn't happen again. Because next time he does that he's gonna get himself kicked out of school.

My question is isn't a week suspension, you know, kinda fucking excessive? Three days I can see, and after living in downtown SF, shit is shit; it's not THAT hard to clean up. Gross, but better than asking "Is this pile from a dog or a hobo, and how long has it been here?"

San Francisco has the worst shit problem I've ever seen in any city I've ever been to. It's literally everywhere. Go down Mission street and there it is: there's shit on the ground. Head over the Castro. Hey guys, there's shit around 14th and Market. Tenderloin, shit, downtown, shit, Sunset, shit.

I saw a sign on States Street that was like, "there's a park on the other side please stop having your dogs poo here" followed by a bunch of emoji of dogs and shit.

Ha... I once had a walk with my aunt's dog (my aunt would have done that if didn't). He stopped to take a shit but I didn't see it, so he took it while moving. I didn't know what happened. Then my aunt noticed said shit...

The worst thing is that if the shit was taken to an house on the right (which is always dirty and literally full of shit) I could have just left it there without cleaning it up MUAHAHA-I'm-so-evil...

The whole shit on the ground thing wasn't something I really encountered on the east coast, strangely. San Francisco was the worst but I saw it in LA, I saw it in Portland, I see it in Seattle. They either have more courteous dogs out there or people who are really good about cleaning them up. Or they just never walk their dogs in the parts of town I hung out in, I don’t know.

I used to have an über-fear of treading on doggie doo walking the sidewalks of Brookline at night, so I’d stay on the streets which were mostly empty and also well-lit. I don’t have to worry about lighting here so much.

Hehe... actually, to be fair, there isn't much shit where I live , but in the towns however... don't get me started on that. You constantly have to keep an eye on the road so you won't accidentaly step on one.
When it's nighttime it's even worse, and from personal experience you just want to hope the lights are working, or else it would be just like playing Minesweeper blindfolded.

Si può proprio dire che questa cosa è merdosa.

Yep...

Well hai there! How ya doing fella?

*ahem*

We hardly get any shit problems here in the UK, but that's mainly because of the price we have to pay for doing that. So bloody expensive! Maxinum of £1000 methinks...

Also, they should really change "Maxinum Penalty" to "Mininum Penalty" to make it sound less positive. When you get a sign saying "Maxinum Penalty £1000", that really wouldn't stop millionaires from letting their dogs shitting on our pavements. "Mininum Penalty £1000" however? Could make a huge difference. No-one would dare leave shit everywhere if they know they'll need to pay no less than £1000, even millionaires would cringe about it!

And now, for something different...

My Nvidia Display Driver crashed. I almost thought it would blue screen on me.
Instead a message popped up saying among the lines of "Nvidia Driver has stopped working and has been reinstalled." with DWM off.

Less than five seconds later, it gave me a blue screen. Thank you display driver. You're the best thing ever.

Actually, that message appeared other times, usually when trying to watch a Youtube video with glitch pixels starting to appear, but it naver gave me a BSOD before.

EDIT: It happened again. this time without warning. It said about a driver trying to write in protected kernel area.
I had to disable the display driver so I can install an updated version... and it worked.

I keep getting bitten by something in my sleep but the weird thing is it's just me and not my girlfriend who shares the bed with me. And it's only on my left leg. But the bites are slowly going further and further up my leg. It kind of sucks. They're super itchy.

I seriously hope they're not flea bites, though, since I had those in January and it was hella lame.
