 I'm stoked on Smash Bros. and it kills me that it'll be another year before I get to play it. I just wonder how I'll cope without my precious GCN controller. I'm also pretty stoked on Mario World 3D, Pikmin, and DKC. The Wii U is the first Nintendo console I didn't bother to get at launch. Looks like I'll be getting one for 2014. ____________________ |

Sounds like there's some pretty neat features coming though. Also very much hyped for a handheld Smash Bros (where has that been the past decade?). Having Mega Man in it is a definite bonus. Meanwhile Microsoft just whipped out the big guns and declared war on their foot, and Sony just rode that and curbstomped them... that was amusing, but now people are saying things like "no DRM"... meanwhile I'll bet it still requires HDCP and has region lockout. For that matter "no DRM" would imply we can hack/replace the OS, run our own homebrew games, copy discs freely... I somehow can't see that happening. For that matter didn't they say they'd leave it up to the publishers to decide the policy for used games? Did they go back on that? ____________________ |

| I'm personally convinced at this point that Microsoft has been spoiled by certain consumers who, for example, repeatedly buy new Xbox 360s instead of taking their current ones in for repair, an thus are now expecting Xbox fans to just bend over backwards in the exact same way. While I'm sure they're going to lose big on this, I also know there's a possibly significant people who are fine with what Microsoft is doing and will happily buy an Xbox One... |

| Honestly I think that what happened is that they expected Sony to do something similar (especially with the mood of publishers lately) and counted on players being forced to suck it up. That backfired now. Whoops. |

They baited MS into thinking they'd both be doing the same things, so gamers would be forced to accept it; then once MS has actually made the announcements (and invested who knows how much into the infrastructure for it) they're like LOL NOPE, NONE OF THAT SHIT HERE. Problem Microsoft?
MS still seems to be going through with it, though! Their official stance is "can't connect to the internet every day? We don't need your business!" 
Also amusing, their demo units aren't even running on actual Xbone hardware, but on Windows - and not Windows 8, either! :specialed: Not even a clean install of their own OS! 
Plenty of people will still go "I don't care about the restrictions because the ones I know about probably won't affect me in my current situation which is sure to not change in the next 5 years, I just want LOL HALO" and buy it anyway... but I can't see MS coming out ahead here. Meanwhile Nintendo continues to just kinda do their own thing and likely do well (but not well enough if they don't step up their game with WiiU) without really trying to compete against the other two. Sony is really gonna do well here. (Which I hate to say, as Sony are dicks... but then, so are Microsoft, and to a lesser extent so are Nintendo, so...) ____________________ |
