I've been hearing a lot about them lately. Basically they're multi-drive storage enclosures that manage data automatically.

They're a bit pricey though...

Seems cool enough if you had 4 massive 1TB SATA drives...nice 4TB portable drive would be nice eh? :\

Personally, I'd rather just get a 4-port USB hub and a few external enclosures; even my nice one was $40, which across 4 + another hub is only about $200; hell of a lot less, just for losing some convinience in "autostorage".

Yea, but we're also technologically savy with a lot of our stuff to.

For a person who's braindead in the subject, this would be a dream for someone that needs to store a lot of stuff on multiple drives without the hassle of managing.

People also pay a shitload for technician work gladly. People, at that point, have money...not brains to use said money or else they'd have figured cheaper alternatives by then that worked better or as well.

Still, though, this is a lot better than dragging around 4 hard drives, if you have them.
