I have been eating chocolate from a trader joe's pound bar of chocolate.

Tomorrow or Monday I shall go buy Hispanic groceries and make my beloved rice and beans again.

I keep making myself and Nicole steak and lately I've been making it by marinating in a mixture of dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and Jameson Irish Whiskey. It ends up tasting actually really good. The rest of the process is pretty much the same as usual: searing on high heat for two minutes each side and then transferring it to a preheated-to-425°F oven for about 12 minutes.

Multi-grain Cheerios and molasses cookies.

The latter are kind of a pain in the ass to chew through but aside from that they're good.

Just got done with a microwave dinner. The noodly one with cheese and tomatoes.

Gotta love buffy speak.

I haven't posted here in forever but that doesn't mean I haven't been cooking.

The other night, I made a Chicken tikka masala using a can of tomato sauce, some Indian spices and some chicken I got at a local grocery chain that had a buy-one-get-one-free deal for 14-packs of drumsticks. I seriously ate chicken almost every night but each night it'd be slightly different. Last night, I braised it in a sort of Chinese barbecue sauce. One night, I breaded it and baked it in the oven.

What am I eating right now, though? Nothing. But I'm waiting for a pizza to arrive at my door that my partner just ordered.

I feel the irresistible urge to note my awesome achievement of eating an entire bowl of cornbread batter a few minutes ago.

I'm currently eating really good ice cream or, if a certain DUNKIN’ DONUTS ad is to be trusted, artisan ice cream. Whether my ice cream is churned by a master craftsperson or not, though, this Wild Mountain Blackberry-flavored ice cream by Tillamook® is really groovy, but it's only second to the much superior flavor Marionberry Pie. Well, we can't always have it best but for a warm summery Pacific Northwest day like today, ice cream is always a winner.

Isn't groovy a dead word ? Nothing against the 60's I suppose but the word sounds so dated and I rarely, if ever, hear people use it.

You're just not hanging out with the right people, daddy-o. Post-war zen-bohemian diction is, like, totally hella rad right now.

This thread needs more delicious pictures from Sofi.

Anyway, I had this for lunch ... it's my first time making an omelette and it actually turned out really pretty (and tasty!):

Sofi (American, b. 1990)
Dairy-Free Green Tea Cookies, 2013

Mixed Media
Edition 2 of 2

Sofi's latest creation in experimenting with green tea pastries, these cookies are entirely dairy-free, substituting soybean oil for butter which was scarce in supply when she baked her first batch. As many components of matcha are fat soluble, this method of consuming Camellia sinensis leaves may actually be preferable to drinking the tea itself. For the best experience, take a bite, sip some milk (soy, dairy or otherwise) and chew thoughtfully as the flavors blend in your mouth. Repeat.

That looks really good, Sofi!

I just had my extremely typical Spanish rice, beans, and fried eggs. ... It was delicious, typically. Variety will come soon when I go to China ... I promise I'll keep a log!

Eggs, sunny side up. If we actually had some bread I probably would've put them together with some cheese and ham but the only bread I can find is the stale end-piece of the loaf that no one ever eats.

Y'mean, the best part of the loaf? (granted, if it's stale, then yeah, I'm not touching it.)

I woke up late, so my breakfast/lunch was two slices of toast with a red pepper houmous. Probably the healthiest thing I'll eat all week.

WRONG.

Or at the very least, multiple people disagree with you.
