Made by Brendan Nilsson, and Subdrag, and I.

This will support importing .obj files (with texture and collision support), moving, adding and changing objects placed on the level, header editing. We plan to add several features to the editor later on.

We're working hard to get a working version out to the public. We have a lot done but we still have a lot of work to do. Let us know what you think as well as suggestions and/or questions you have.

Ah, this is cool. I had no idea that things were this far along in the BK hacking scene. Will Mumbo's Wand allow you to disable the opening cutscene as well?

I'll skip asking about transparency, since I know like water collision that's on the way to being solved.

Also, it makes me happy that you never used this as the name.

Very very cool. Are you guys going for a ToadsTool type application? Seems like it from what you described in your post. Do you have any screens of the editor itself? I didn't see any in the videos you linked.

I really hope you guys keep on this, BK is one of my all time faves and would actually be motivated to make a hack for it, unlike Mario64.

This is aimed to be THE Toad's Tool of Banjo-Kazooie. There's a lot of things that are strangely programmed that we had to work around. We don't have any shots of the editor yet but we'll upload some tutorials and such.

Water collision is solved, it just wasn't figured out when that video was made.

The few hackers who truly care about hacking (mainly from TheRWP including me) have been working over a half decade to tear this ROM apart. There isn't a lot of public information about it out, that's all. I myself have mapped out over 90% of the ROM's memory. The opening cutscene will be disabled, actually creating cutscenes would be pretty complicated, but never say never.

Sound modification can already be done with SubDrag's N64 Sound Tool.

I'm hoping we can get an early version of this program out by the summer.

At the moment we're working out glitches in the program and parsing object IDs. We're also going to try to have it apply a patch to support bigger levels using the N64 Expansion Pack. You'll be able to import your levels with obj files and be able to place objects such as notes, jiggies, warps and enemies wherever you want (that was in the original game) in the level.

I'm hoping we can have scripting support in a future version so people could customize their own events and whatnot. We might have to make our own custom script engine since BK just uses ASM which may be too difficult for some people. Animation importing for objects are going to be a bit tricky too, I'm not sure how the N64 exactly handles the bones.

Extremely impressive. Functionality wise, you guys are pretty much covering everything one would want it seems. Had to pause the video several times to get a good view of the various options and tabs, but it all looks very useful and easy to learn.

There are some obvious quality of life features that I am sure you will eventually get to. The most obvious being the lack of hotkeys. Seeing the user (in the video) go back and forth as he clicks on an object, back to the UI, back to object to modify several properties seemed torturous. Also, icons with or instead of text for buttons will not only give you more physical UI space to work with, but also just make the editor look more unique and stylish.

All in all though, this is very exciting stuff. Great job!
