This adds and to the list, but they're still pretty meaningless without context.

Yikes, that's a lot of text.

debug.fsb

test2.fsb
This is a demonstration of the scripting engine. It displays a script command on-screen, then demonstrates the effect of running the command with various parameters. There's nothing particularly interesting in the Japanese text.

test3.fsb
This is another demonstration of the scripting engine. Unlike the above demo, it doesn't display the command, just a short description of the effect. Once again, I doubt there's anything interesting. (I didn't actually watch this one all the way through...)

test4.fsb
This is almost identical to the Japanese demo of the game. The only difference I noticed is that the flash version gives more backstory to Akane.

How will you display translations alongside those videos? There's a lot of text, and it's very boring stuff.

I'm really not sure what the first word is supposed to be, so I've placed my best guess in brackets.

Ok then. I understand. Like I said, since I can't read any of it, it just makes me more curious to what is said. If anything, can I have translations for the options that appear on the menus? I want to call the options what they really are and not "option 1", "option 2" etc. That is what I have been doing on the game's page and I hate doing that when the options have real names.

Thanks.

Thanks! I'm gonna have to conclude that while a larger sample text size is needed... Sierra was faithful enough in the translation, though the comms seem to speak more casually in the japanese script.

Someguy just found this in Brawl while we were poking through the stages.

The file name is "notfound", so I have a hunch as to what it says, but I want to make sure before I put anything definite.

Thanks! My guess is that it was used for when they were developing the scene, appearing in the place of icons that were either not made yet, or misplaced.

I wonder... what happens if we try taking out some icon files? Maybe it will cause the icon to show up.

This just in: two more!

GrdPStadiumOVTest

GrdPStadiumDummy

I have a feeling the second one says "Dummy", but I have no idea about the first one.

It's incredibly blurry, I know, but any guesses as to what that says? I can make out some of it but it's better to have someone who actually knows japanese to translate it. This is one of the textures of the Ragtime Mouse in Final Fantasy 9, if anyone is wondering.

Looks like a handwritten "Test" and a "Dummy" to me, although I'm not completely sure about the first character in the handwritten image... it also reminds me of a hiragana "so", but considering the other two (katakana "su" and "to") I'd say it's a katakana "te", making it "tesuto" or "Test".

I found these while looking through NSMB Wii, in a file called wind_env. They're numbered 0-5 in the file.

Was working on some posts and I got some graphics that need translating for what I cannot.

I can't read the Kanji beside PSL in the top here. I know the bottom says "Alpha Version".

I'm not sure what kind of producer this is.

CG ???

I'm not sure what kind of Producer it's mentioning at the top.

I know the 3rd line says "Pokémon" and the last line says "Koei Tecmo Games."

I'm not sure if this is someone's signature on it, if it's some piece of Kanji, or what it is. Does anyone know?

Take those with a grain of salt, not 100% sure...

- In PSL(仮称), the Kanji mean "temporary name"
- かいはつ could be 開発, development, so "Development Producer"
- かんり could be 監理, superintendence or supervision, so ex. "CG Supervision"
- せいさく・ちょさく could be 製作・著作, production and writing, so "Production / Writing"
- かぶしきがいしゃ is 株式会社, corporation/public company/"Co. Ltd.", so (using their English names AFAIK them) The Pokémon Company and Tecmo Koei Games Co., Ltd.

The third and fourth line in this page, please.

◇ステージセレクト
 タイトル文字が縮小しているときに、A、B、X、Yの順にボタンを押す。
 すると、ゲームを始めると、ステージセレクトの画面になる。
 ステージ数を十字ボタンの左右で選び、スタートで決定する。
 ステージ数を7にすると、HARDモードでしかプレイできないステージ5-6が登場する。

I know that's a Stage Select code for Sengoku Denshou (SNES). I remembered the game had some sort of unused text after the credits, so I'm wondering if it's part of a secret ending or something. Google Translate can't make heads or tails of those two sentences, so...

◇ Stage Select
While the title text is shrinking, press A, B, X, then Y.
When you start the game, the stage select screen will appear.
Choose the stage number by pressing left and right on the control pad, and press Start to confirm.
When you set the stage number to 7, you'll always get stage 6-5 on hard mode.

Oh, so there isn't a hidden ending. Okay. I'll try to dig out the script. Thank you.

Also. Bleh. Everything looks fine to me, Windows-1252 or not.

I wonder if I can make or find a Greasemonkey script that lets me edit the header so it adds the charset...
