I did the math and I think you can get through Angler's Tunnel in Link's Awakening with 3 keys left over, but you have to be skilled.

It's easy to get through with one left over, though.

Sounds like it requires the run and jump over as much as possible approach, something that usually gets me killed, a lot, in Zelda games...

You have to jump over the big gap at the bottom left in the + room, which lets you skip the corner room that has two locked doors.

You can skip the boss path too by jumping over the pits from the bottom instead of taking the stairs from the top. Easy.

Can't you also be a key short in there? I definitely recall something like that in Link's Awakening, which got fixed in later versions.

You can, by opening a door in the wrong order. You have to do a tricky jump to do it, though, and they made it impossible in the DX version.

You can beat Level 5 with at least one extra key, too.

This is a tempting idea.

I'd leave the keys in shops, but... well, the rewards wouldn't be anything exorbitant. You'd probably end up barely profiting, if at all, buying your way through.

(It wouldn't be shit like HCs/MCs/item upgrades. Kinda want people to be able to 100% it and have those be... well, bonuses. Potions, rupees, restocks, that kind of thing.)

I think it should be part of the challenge of 100%ing a game. It shouldn't be just a matter of banging your head on a wall until it falls down, you should have to put some effort and thought into it.

That said, this would be much more fair if there were some way to reset a dungeon.
