| While this is ridiculous, I'm surprised they didn't say this back wjhen Night of the Living Dead forgot to include it's copyright notice in the movie, thus entering public domain. They changed the laws because of this in order to allow people who make this mistake in the future to rectify it, but did not retroactively copyright Night of the Living Dead.
I think it's more of a "In this day and age copyright holders are bigger, more powerful, and have more money, so we have to do whatever it takes to appease them (and allow them to get even more money), even if its not in the name of freedom." Fuck that shit. |
